Compared to the other apps out there this one hardly takes up any space. And it's perfect! Very nice to use.
It is free, and you can customize all the settings.
Also annoyed me by asking me to rate it.
Challenges you and you can adjust many of the settings
Too much ads, quite irritating.
The developer is very responsive to suggestions and the new update(s) to the app after several years make it even better. Well worth paying for to remove the ads and support the developer. ***Edit 2/2/16: Since the last update, the Today screen is showing all sessions from previous days. The progress graph is also wrong because of this. 2/12: somehow the issue corrected itself and it is working normally again, at least for now.
This it the best implementation of this game on Android I've seen. Just 2 flaws: 1. It's unclear how to remove ads (I don't mind paying) 2. The sounds get truncated (should be just sped-up) in fast modes (less than 2s, I play on 1.5s, slower is boring and my attention flies away).
Basically one has to remember two or more sequences of certain data as they change overtime...it can be extremely challenging. The pitch sequence can be very useful for musicians...(here's a tip to the developer...about a music ear training version with pitches and note letters?)
Tutorial could be better since I didn't understand how the task was supposed to work and the tutorial stops at n=2. Going up to n=3 would've made it crystal clear to me. Aside from that the program works great and is really testing me. And now that I have read more about other programs it would be good to see different kinds of challenges you can play, such as those that vary the n or other variables.
The original game was robust, simple, and user friendly. An update added the typical Ads banner, which it's fair and acceptable to support the developer. However, the latest update introduced noisy and intrusive pop up Ads. I believe that application quality was sacrificed at the expense of making money. Intrusive Ads are not the best way to encourage your users to move to a paid version. Also, an application update should always make it better, never worse, no matter with version you have.
In manual mode, nback will stop before last trial. So if I set it to level 4 with 8 trials, it stops at 7. Will update score when fixed. Edit:looks fixed now. Very happy!
So far the best Nback I've found. It's evolved and gotten better. I would still like a more accurate metric for tracking scores. For example, the ability to look back on average percentage scores for each level to see how they improve before you reach a new level.
I wasn't sure about this but I noticed when I used this app b4 playing snooker I played much better than usual. So now I use it whenever I feel I'm not focusing and I gotta say I real see a difference.
Feels like it gets worse for every update. Now there's no easy way to see how many sessions u played today. The today tab shows not only sessions from today, and its all mixed up. Instead of working with the gui and stuff try incorporate more statistical features like be able to track two different game modes (letter vs sounds), and show a calendar view where u can see history for each day, and so on. It the reset to a level each day doesnt work anymore.
Really increase a memory ,creativity and focus. Within a few days I can see the positive difference with which I approach daily tasks,it makes me thing clearer and faster. Really recommend to anyone who is searching for similar results.
What does that white square boxes(#1,2,3)at the top means? Does it show the difficulty level
Options aren't activating. Using another until fixed. UPDATE: my apologies. I just needed to check mark manual mode in the setting menu. 5 stars!
I have an idea though. Perhaps you should add an arithmetic mode with visual numbers and/or simple math problems where you'd be looking for a math problem with the same solution. (6+4 and 7+3 equal 10...) Also on the flashing button option, I like the immediate feedback.. The red and green (right and wrong) flashes. But the blue ones on the previous moves are very distracting. I'd like an option to have the immediate feedback without the blue flashes on the ones I miss.
Love and appreciate the app. I use it daily. The only issue I have is the count for the day always begins at 90 so I don't have an accurate count or average.
Could add button flash up when correctly or incorrectly answering instead of just the text. It's hardly noticeable unless you look straight at the buttons which is distracting from the game
Heya Phillip, Could you add combination mode? (Like in the updated brain workshop) I'd be using this app for all my n back if this had it :)
Excellent one. It automatically decreases or increases the n back level, based on score. App is stable and runs smoothly. Audio is loud and clear enough.
Im at 5back and this game gets me feeling a sort of high when Im playing it. I also get very vivid dreams when I play it regularly. Not sure if any cognitive benefit but I like it.
The best mobile alternative for the pc application ' Brain Workshop'.Love the progress graph. It would be even better if there was an option to change the time delay per trial ( for easing 3 back) Other suggestions for improvement: Arithmetic N-back , if possible.
Very challenging, many possible ways to change up game, and probably the game only game I will ever rate for now.
Each session ends with the number of hits and misses but it also needs to tell you how many hits there were to get in the previous session for sounds and locations. Without that you can't focus on your week point.
Only has what I need. Ads between every round is rough. If I keep this up though I may make a donation.
Game works well, multiple gameplay options available to adjust difficulty and game style.
I've always hoped there will be one day a good dual n-back app. Finally! This is it!..Thank You!
Starting with dual 4-back, the letter sound is occasionally skipped by the app. Same goes for the piano sound, it intermittently can't be heard in some trials. Hope this gets fixed soon.
Excellent product. Just wish it would more clearly show my progress with scoring reports. Such deep information would be great for a premium option if offered.
pop-up ads and an ugly top-to-bottom interface. *Not for everyone*
What a great game this is. Love the posibility to add more options to the game like shape or piano sound. That's amazing :) great job developers. The GUI it self could be more sophisticated
This game really deserve 5 star but it doesn't have manual mode through which the displayed events can be presented with pressing a key.
Sounds of letters kept cracking which made the game impossible to play
Robust app, unlike most of the other n-back apps out there. Highly customizable. My favorite feature is using the piano sounds instead letter sounds.
Very intrusive adds that defeats the whole purpose of the game! !
Has options to make it even harder, and the automatic mode progresses the difficulty for you as you succeed. The way it's meant to be played.
Много настроек. Хороший звук. Один минус: при выводе результата не показывает в чем была ошибка - ложное нажатие или пропуск.
Excellent. Allows silent options (color, location, and shape)
