This app uses the Device Administrator permission for locking the screen via gesture.

Notice
Please be patient to those unfixed bugs, we are trying are best but time for us is always limited. Hope you will understand.

Currently there are a lot of issues and we are not able to fix all at a time, so please be patient if the issue is still opening in GitHub. I and the team are going to review the structure of the launcher as it is not that good as I wrote them a long time ago, so there won't be any UI redesign and new feature coming so certainly. Thanks for heading over and your support.

The screenshot may not be up-to-date.

Status
Still under active development.

Why another launcher?
This is an launcher project I started from scratch and with a little help of some library because I want to create an unique Android experience for myself, now I share with you.

What are users saying about OpenLauncher (Alpha/Unstable)

It is an extraordinary launcher at first look. It has almost all features ,but arranged in a new innovative way. At first look you may not be able to understand it. The side bar and search help in many thing. It will be liked by all who has patience to understand what it is. Perhaps I will give 5 stars after more evaluation. Wish all the best to developer,

W70%
by W####:

Great launcher, as an open source app is totally dependent of the good will and time of the guys on github. Looking forward to some option to organize the apps inside the app drawer.

I70%
by I####:

Good, stable enough for a daily use but it when I press the home after opening an app it shows the app drawer instead of the homescreen.

M70%
by M####:

This is in very good shape for an alpha build (0.5.5). I am look forward to seeing how this launcher matures. Thank you for this launcher.

by N####:

Not that great.

N70%
by N####:

Great looking open source launcher.

N70%
by N####:

Minimalistic, fast, supports icon packs and widgets, as well as gestures. Don't listen to negative reviews, it's an ALPHA of course is unstable, but this is shaping up to be a very solid, snappy minimal launcher. Really looking forward to see what's to come from the dev.

by L####:

I've tried several of the freely available launchers from Android, and I like OpenLauncher the best. It allows me to have everything that I want, and don't want, in a launcher. I find the sidebar very useful (especially now as I can control its color and transparency) and the appdrawer implementation works flawlessly for me. Plus the lock screen function and memory clear are useful additions. And now that the settings and other functions can be accessed via the home screen, well, I think it's nearly the perfect launcher for me.

Best launcher Tried em all Evie Nova TSF you name it but its very hard to edit widgets in this launcher...

N70%
by N####:

No complaints other than it crashes when uninstalling an app which has a shortcut on homescreen. Otherwise, pretty decent and simple, and quite stable for an alpha.

Loved this launcger.. Has sum pretty nice featyres.. Really liked it actually.. Only thing it crashes every tym i install a new app.. Nd i do that quute frequrntly so its pretty annoyin... So uninstallin fr now but wud sure come bak fr the complete version i.e. stable one... Pretty kuul anyway.. Worth a try

I really like this launcher, it's clean smart and stylish. It has a few bugs at the moment but nothing major. One thing is that the date doesn't update unless I restart the launcher in settings. Overall I'm happy to keep this launcher

N70%
by N####:

Great launcher lightweight and clean. The gestures seem unresponsive, I can only get the pinch gesture to respond about 1 out of 30 pinches. Swiping up is more successful but still 1 out of 3; but swiping up from the dock opens the drawer everytime. Double tap works just fine. I enabled feedback, but I didn't see any. It would be awesome to allow an app shortcut on the minibar. Also the on the search the x doesn't clear the text, and the keyboard should auto hide when enter is pressed. It would also be awesome if along the right side of the search it had the alphabet so you can quickly jump to a letter. /edit Seems the version on play store is more stable than on f-droid. Also on pinching leaving one finger still while moving the other in to it works but moving both fingers doesn't.

N70%
by N####:

Keeps crashing more so than previous build. But love it so I can deal

N70%
by N####:

Only if it allows multiple lines for names of apps and deletes widgets better or edits them better in larger desktops

V70%
by V####:

Still in alpha stage so it keeps crashing. Hope you make it more stable then I'll happily jump ship :D

N70%
by N####:

This is a nice Android launcher with rich customisation which works well on my device! The best of it: It's fully open source and gets better with every update!

N70%
by N####:

The fact that there's no way to deal with the light status bar or permanently white clock on light walls is a serious usability problem, but otherwise it's a clean, modern launcher. Recommend trying!

N70%
by N####:

great launcher and working nice with xiomi themes. just need sum extra for side bar like chang color if side bar & can add contact & application...

V70%
by V####:

Excellent idea, love your work, When will you merge the Arabic translation which I submitted in github? Thank you for your efforts.

Text intertwines with other text in minibar settings page.

Finally there's an open source launcher that draws inspiration from the stock Android launcher. As a whole OpenLauncher is intuitive to use by taking cues from the the stock launcher, and looking quite close in design. It does have a few extra features for added customization which is very nice. This is probably one of the finest open source launchers around for taking the tried and true stock launcher and offering additional features and customization while being straightforward to use.

N70%

A 17-year-old developer? You're amazing, dude! This launcher is light and pretty stable, except for minor crashes when uninstalling apps on homescreen. Looking forward to a more mature and better version out soon. Keep up with the good work. Good luck buddy!

B70%
by B####:

You may need to install the latest version using the F-Droid app. This version just crashed on me. But the latest version is actually a pretty decent launcher!

N70%
by N####:

Finally one fully open source launcher. It still contains a lot of bugs, but this was expected, because it's still alpha.

M70%
by M####:

The best open source launcher I've used yet. Still in early development so bugs are expected. Can't wait to see how awesome this will be when it's stable.
