Pitch Black Wallpaper

When I first saw this app, I thought is this for real? I knew a lot of folks don't realize it takes power to generate a colorful background. Those that did know that. Would surely be smart enough to simply put their finger on the camera and there you go, black picture for a conservative background. Now the size of the app matters not. If it does.. buy a bigger sd card and figure it out. I'll watch it's battery usage and report back.

20KB is a bit too much for my phone. I get error while downloading this app. But when I download a +20KB file from the internet using my favourite browser, it doesnt five any error. I think i'll stick to the old ways of downloading wallpaper as this idea is stupid as bleep.

Genius! Sheer genius. Just the app and wallpaper that the world needs right now in this time of crisis. Download any old piece of digal black on the Googly Octopus? Who knows where its been - or where it's come from. Who were its parents? Is it a true pitch black or a mix? BAH! This is not only true undiluted black it is in fact the one and only Pitch Black!! Who wouldn't want to save the planet from the planetary Global Warming mess by using this app?Don't listen the the guy in Google's pocket below. Fight back and install NOW!

I'm not quiet sure what you have done. It's so dumb but brilliant idea for lazy users who don't have solid background color built in or for those user who have separate wallpaper options for Homescreen and Lockscreen. Regardless in my opinion it's not smart thing to do, better to just google 'Black' and use that wallpaper.

Just google 'pitch black', hit images & download one & set for home/lockscreens. I've been doing it for years my current image is only 1kb.

Small app that is quite useful.. There are a lot of similar apps like this one, and i decided to choose this one. And those who seem to think that it's useless, why did they download it, or, if they didn't, why did they have to badmouth it? Even the tiniest piece of creativity is worth diamond, imho..

Why hunt down a really black wallpaper and go through menus to activate it when needed, when this handy app is doing it with one click. No ads and no fuzz making it easy for the lazy in me to save battery and change my background quickly to really black (not black with a shade of blue).

Great idea! This app makes it easy to set a simple and completely black wallpaper. I was scrolling through the reviews and, just like you can mark them as spam or unhelpful, I wish there was an option that said dumbass...

Lol this app is good for nothing guys, if u need a black wallpaper then just download it, I have been already using black wallpaper in my screen n I wondered what change this app could bring and it changed nothing, moreover now it was taking more battery usage as this wallpaper was set by this external (third party app) I will suggest everyone to set wallpapers from there inbuilt settings for safety, and battery usage. You can either use photo editing apps to create whichever colour wallpaper you like and set them manually from your phone settings trust me This app does not have anything new or special it's just a black wallpaper. Apps for creating wallapere are Textagram, sketchbook etc Create your wallpapers and set them rather using this good for nothing app. And if you are so lazy to install this and set only black wallpaper then go for it . And ya the this black wallpaper is no different from other black wallpapers

The Idea is simple and great, but i would like to hear from the developer that technically, how it saves battery as there are many types of displays in androids today, so how you could generalise the fact that it reduces battery consumption? Thanks

Very nice but by virtue of having the words Pitch black wallpaper on there in white....it's not pitch black. Is there not a way to remove that???? Won't get 5 stars until there is.

Open your camera. Cover it fully. Click a picture. Set it as wallpaper. You're done. The developer either mad or badass.

Would be better if it was a couple of shades blacker, or indeed lighter...hope this helps, don't mention it...

An App you never thought you'd need but one that changes your device for the better. Especially if (like me) you're a minimalist.

I like having a dark wallpaper. It saves on battery life.

I'm not sure why but this app makes me happy. I like that it's small, I like that it's basic uncomplicated, easy on the eyes and easy on the battery.

I am sure it won't work on ips displays but I still like the black background as black is my favorite color. So cheers!

it's exactly what it says...by the way if you have the pixel launcher or its wallpaper picker installed you can get it on the lockscreen by setting it via this app then picking it as the rotational image in the google wallpaper app as of Lollipop (android 5.x.x and up) the image doesnt rotate if not part of the pre-installed google app :)

Not able to change my dial screen to black.

Go to settings, wallpaper but it says"can't use as a lock screen, original image to small"-redmi note 2

Does the job. But it only saves battery life if you used an active wallpaper. The screen back light is white so the darker the screen is the more power it's using.

I finally found a great black wallpaper that works with both my home and lock screensaver on my Galaxy 5 phone. Works just like it says.

Its most def black. Be pretty cool of u added a selectable base color for those mord colorful days but still pure genius

I had to download this to see if there was anything more to it and there wasn't. Why not just use an all black jpeg file? Hell, use a two by two pixel image and it's smaller than this app.

I was using pure black for a while. I will try this one out, so far so good as far as size. Had to use the download image option to use it on lockscreen.
