Kid's Shell - Kid Safe Launcher

Excellent environment for my kids to play with my phone. Feature request: When exiting the shell, please kill all the apps that were launched from the shell. After the shell closes, I often find I'm stuck in a screen in a game and it's fiddly to escape. Also games in the background are potentially bad for my battery life.

Exactly what we need. Its impossible to follow ad links or buy anything or open any app you haven't put in the shell

Have this app installed on a tablet that my 4 year old uses exclusively...very simple interface and it works very well. I have had no glitches where my child has been able to circumvent the sandbox and access any apps that I did not want him to. I found the cost of the Pro version very reasonable and I have purchased. Would be nice to have a remote access feature to change the settings but it really isn't necessary for myself as he always plays in my presence. All in all...a very useful app for anyone with young children.

Nice, simple to use and effective for our 3 year old. A bug is that the time-based lock out screen seems to come up even when it's an allowed time.

Part 1. Purchased pro (12$ AUD) and widgets for audible and Google play don't work, can't get a refund because it uses in app purchases instead of separate app instances... Part 2. When I tried to change settings, it got stuck in a permissions loop and now I'm busy trying to uninstall the app remotely because it's effectively bricked my phone. Part 3. It turns out is no longer possible to uninstall an app remotely from the play store so I had to erase the entire device using the Android Device Manager... brilliant.

Searched high and low.. after a long time searching for the best sandbox type kids launcher, this has proven to be all that and more. Very kid and parent friendly. Thanks devs! (This is a genuine review not a fluff post.. I rarely bother with a full review.)

I use this in conjunction with CM Security Master because that application has an app locker. (Set it up to always need pin) My son was able to switch users with kid's shell and also get to my notifications with certain games. This Kid's Shell (free version) is the best app of it's kind that I've used. With apps like this, always have a background app lock application in case. The best combination for my son to safely use my phone. Thanks very much!

I've installed this on my galaxy tablet 10.1 and it's totally locked up the tablet. It keeps flashing between the home screen and a blank white screen. It won't let me select parent mode. I've just paid for the pro mode as well. Can you tell me how to fix it please

I emailed support about an issue with the screen time function and have not heard back yet...

Good app but add one feature more add unlock reminder means after set password hide password enter mode and reminder time to show password to unlock on parent mode and this is optional feature of parent mode and normal feature dont delete both style add

My 2 children can get out of this app half the time

Now worthless unless you buy the full app.

I paid for this only so my kids could have a custom wallpaper but the feature is broken. I tried in another device and doesn't let me use it since I already bought it (WTH!?). Requires external apps to perform basic tasks (e.g., it won't let you set a custom wallpaper without an external image resizer app), contacts shortcut feature doesn't work either, no icons size or a way to hide the annoying top bar. This isn't worth it, I want a refund right now.

After using the full version of this app for two days it crashed twice giving the child full access to the tablet. This is totally the opposite of what it should be doing. I want my money back.

Good to keep children from getting into your computer ordering things screwing up here icons deleting Stuff Etc

Does not integrate well with Youtube anymore.

This app has kids and parent shell. Which make sure kids only use approved apps for them.

I loved this app but now it's locked and will not open in kid lock mode so it's going bye bye :-(

Was to glitchy uninstalling it to find a better kid mode

Bought the pro version so I could not worry about what my children were doing. I only put what apps I wanted them to use and then locked the notification bar. My kids found that when playing Pokemon go the notification bar became unlocked and they could exit the launcher that way. Good shot but not quite there.

This app totally fails after launching a video via kids youtube. Launch kids you-tube, then hit the home button, the you will be outside the shell seeing the standard home screen with full access to do anything. Not recommended if you want to allow videos.

Works better than any other I've tried. Locks the kids into a preselected list of approved apps and doesn't let them out to wreak havoc on your phone. A must have for parents!! Works just like my old Samsung kids mode but works on any Android and is FREE! Excellent!!

I switched from a galaxy s5 and loved the kids Lock. I am looking for a new replacement app since this phone doesn't come with one. Thought I would try this one. My son has been able to get to the main hone screen of my phone and play store to even download apps. All while still in kids mode. He is only 2 so he doesn't know math yet so I know he is not just unlocking it. Very disappointed.
