For those looking to maximize their efficiency, this launcher is the way to go. Intelligent search, no frills, works exactly as intended. No need to navigate through folders of apps, scroll through your app drawer, or open up yelp/chrome to find a place to eat. Just swipe down, type something in the search bar, and every app, contact, or restaurant you are looking for appears. Literally, my technologically challenged mom saw me use this launcher and now she's using it herself. It's that simple.
I'm gonna try it for a while, it's got great potential. Theres only two things I'd like to see in the future: 1. The ability to hide the search bar, but still access it from the swipe down and home button. (This is so I can place a nice filler widget) 2. The ability to hide app labels, I feel these are out of place with such a great minimalistic design choice
I'm tired of trying launcher after launcher only to go back to Google Launcher. I tried Evie on a whim and boy am I glad I did!! They say it's developed for Android users by Android users and it definitely shows! This launcher is so smooth and polished. I love the Google Now integration and the slide out app drawer. It supports icon packs AND the universal search works as advertised. You gotta try it!!
...it lacks a lot of customization features even the stock Google Now launcher has! I haven't been able to rearrange my screens so far. It does not has a persistent icon try, which is something I really miss. I don't like app lists; I prefer app drawers. Why not letting users choose between the two options? Sorry, but I'm going back to nova for the time being.
Using Evie on older devices is amazing! The omi-search bar is very helpful for everything I need. I always admired the a-z app sidebar, and I'm really glad Evie implements that in well. Customization is simple and spot on. My only drawback is that you can't hide the app labels on your home screen. Its not a big concern, it's just something I'd like to see in the future. Beautiful launcher, easy on storage. Memory. Etc! No pesky adds or pro features!
Love this development team! Emailed them on Sunday about an issue and they had a patch for it by Monday. The launcher itself has been my favorite to use and I've downloaded most on the Play Store. If you like the Minimalist style of Aviate and don't want the shackles of being bound to Yahoo, this launcher is for you.
This launcher literally sped up my phone. NEXUS 6. it ran well before but flies now. The search function is stupid fast. Like REALLY fast. I actually think it's better than spotlight for iPhones. It's feels very minimal, like a sleek version of vanilla Android which I love. The Evie team is awesome too. I emailed then with a suggestion that folders have more than a 3x3 grid and they actually got back to me. They said that they are adding it to a future update. So cool.
In my opinion, this launcher is better in everyway to nova prime (launcher i have been using on my s7edge.) Except.... one thing. It doesnt support third party app icons. Would love to use candycon and glimdark and all my favourites, but unfortunetly cannot. PLEASE ADD ITD MAKE YOU LAUNCHER SO MUCH BETTER EVIE TEAM. thanks
This is a great launcher! Blazing fast, super intuitive and clutter free (yay!) The customisation options are awesome (e.g. being able to control number of rows and columns for apps, app icon size etc). I have tried a few launchers and had Aviate until a couple of days ago. I felt like it was slowing down my rusty S5 too much. I'm so glad I gave Evie a try. Do the same, you won't regret it.
I LOVE the design but the launcher needs more customisability. I would like the option to remove the Google search bar. If this option is there then my issue is that it's hidden and not very clear how to do it. Can I also have docks at the bottom of each page that I can rotate through? Is it possible to have a better tutorial? The one you get when you open the app is sparse at best. There is also no option I can see to run any tutorial again or re-see it. I do like the app I just think it lacks atm
The most Simple and customizable launcher out there! I dislike most launchers since they try to add too much here and there.....and don't have options for simple things like changing rows and columns or configuring home screen launch.....Evie has it all!!! Except for home screen launch configuration but it's already set to side swipe which I enjoy. Oh not to mention, lighting fast launcher <3 **Note to Evie**: please do make the home screen launch also configurable! Thanks!
This is, by far, the most thought-through, well-rounded launcher that I have ever come across. For past iPhone users, the swiftness and the simplicity though complexity of the interface will be rather familiar. As Android has always lacked style and aesthetic appeal, download this app.
It's one of the best launchers I have tried, I always delete them but this I kept. Really minimalistic and smooth. However, I can't change which part of a large wallpaper I want to display on my screen. This is short annoying and a deal breaker in the long run!
The animations for opening folders and the app list are absolutely gorgeous. Everything seems speedy and nice. However, I do have a few suggestions: 1) Move widgets and settings pages out of the app list. It looks like crap, and makes it impossible to reliably swipe to the left to close the app list. 2) I would love the ability to hide the search bar. It's completely unnecessary clutter. 3) Live wallpapers would be awesome :)
Atlast i can go somewhere fresh from Google launcher. I was struck on that since it rolled. i loved the transitions. and just little gesture and specially not totally losing the google. Loved the way you blend it. Just little solutions and it will be 5 stars. some widgets just get black space and shows nothing. and second is google wallpaper auto mode for daily change of wallpaper not working.
I love the launcher. It's beautifully simplistic. The search functionality is awesome. My only problem with it is that lately the bottom row of my apps on the home screen have been shifted up so they're sitting well above the bottom of the screen, so it looks bad. This happened after I changed my wallpaper, if that helps.
Minimal, fluid, and does everything it needs to do. Just the right amount of customization without being too much. Love that I can use a third party icon pack AND change icons individually. My only complaint is there is no notification on the icons for things like messages and Gmail. Will be more than happy to donate to get that option and keep this ad-free.
I've tried many launchers and always found myself returning to Nova. I came across Evie by accident, glad I did as I haven't looked back since. I'd like to see a few more tweaks here and there but I like what I see so far. Keep up the work and thank you
I've used a bunch of different launchers and this one just feels right. It's fast, simple, and responsive. Personally I never wanted a lot of the 3D or effects a lot of other launchers have. Just a tight, responsive launcher that makes things easy. That's the Evie launcher. I'm very impressed with it.
Simple, yet effective and small in file size. Gets the job done. However, it does need an option to save more than one layout. Needs to be able to have multiple layouts that can be saved/backed up/restored at any time.
Tried this launcher on a whim and was really surprised. Really smooth performance with an excellent way to access Google now. Will give this a go as it's very refreshing from all the Pixel stuff going on at the moment. Would totally donate to keep up development. Well done developer. Keep up the good work.
My most favorite launcher. Lightest on resources. Works even on my old mobile like a charm. Has very impressive features. But here's the problem: The icons and widgets are chopped in landscape mode on my Galaxy Tab 2 7".
I bothered to rate this app because it's so good it's built well and works flawlessly I believe there could be more features like transition animations but over all I love this launcher. Note this is my first launcher after done a lot of research and I only rate an app when it really impresses me or really disappoints me
A junk free, simple and brilliant launcher that you can group apps on. Didn't think I would find anything better than Aviate... But I have. Good work guys
Having used a multitude of launchers over the year, I'd simply stuck with Nova because it worked, and it did it well. However Evie is completely different to any other launcher I've tried, and it works so well. Everything is smooth, every animation, every feature. With some additions like a more detailed recent tab on the 'drawer' and being able to remove app labels from the home screen I think it would then have everything I actually require from a device, and thus a launcher. Great job team Evie!
Oh my gush this launcher is perfect. To tell the truth I'm a Launcher Maniac. I've installed like every launcher available on Google play but oh my god the Evie is just absolutely gorgeous...I highly recommend it
Everything is great except that newly installed apps wont appear and isn't searchable unless you restart your phone. I now this app is quite new so I expect it to be fixed sometime soon.. Keep it up!
Best in class for performance, simplicity and ease of use. Very simple and straightforward layout, easy on the eyes and agreeable with customisation. My only concern is the lack of live wallpaper support, which I have no doubt will be fixed in a coming version. 9.5/10
Installed because Nova was slow and having issues. Didn't expect to change launchers, but Evie is just so fast and looks so good I decided to keep it. Breathed new life into my Galaxy S5, which is so much faster with Evie. Some users complaining about the lack of customisation, but in reality customisation is something you do once. I much prefer performance everyday over a few extra customisation features. Simple, intuitive and now my new permanent launcher. Kudos to the Evie team.
This may be the best launcher ever. Anyways I have some things I want to be changed. Whenever I universally search a app (that I haven't installed) the Play Store icon is outdated. And you guys should add search bar styles, thanks.
I've tried just about every gimmicky launcher out there. If I could remove Google launcher and use Evie exclusively, I would. The only things I'd like to see added/updated is the ability to rename and remove icon names. The ability to auto hide/modify the notification bar, and also a built in news feed when you swipe up, as opposed to the Google cards, which no longer work since the update. Get those 3 things done and I'll give it the 5 stars it deserves.
Fast performance. Definitely like the simple atmosphere in this launcher. Customization is okay, though I'd request to have app name changing on the drawer. It's not too simple nor too complex. It's in the middle of the spectrum. Highly recommended. Just give it a try.
Have used every launcher over the last 7 years. Came to this from Nova, skeptical, however have been using for over 3 weeks now. It really is an excellent product. Well done.
One of the better launchers I've tried. It's crisp, clean & responsive. A couple things I haven't been able to customize: the bright white persistent search bar at top of each page (I use dark theme & I don't need search bar at all). Love the easily accessible, alphabetized app list - what a joy to use. Keep up the good work!
This launcher doesn't feel like a launcher. It's so smooth and natural feeling, I'll probably have it on all my phones, including my new Oneplus 3T. Great work team.
It is almost alike with Nano Launcher: fast, lit, great UI. Thanks! Pls fix some bugs..when it was just got installed, it crashed. Then asked about the Launcher option twice.
After installing/uninstalling the applications the app drawer doesn't update instantaneously infact sometimes apps don't go away at all or don't show up as they are installed. Please fix this issue, that will be great.
This is great non-intrusive and (so far) stable launcher. My launcher of choice at the moment, and i just tried it on a whim!
I installed the apps after a review from u tube. The only problems is not getting any icons from play store. It is not consuming any RAM.thanks.
This one is smooth, fast and looks like a million dollars and is free. Go figure. I miss two things, gestures to launch apps and searchable icon packs when you set custom icons. The one real flaw is that I can't use live wallpapers. With that fixed it would be my default.
