Want the New Facebook Android App UI? Here is How to Get It!

For the last few months, Facebook has been testing a new flat UI for its Android application. Available only for members of the Alpha testing group, the new interface of the popular app was available only to a selected few as it was controlled directly by Facebook's servers.

If you want to test drive the new Android UI, here are few simple steps to get the 9.0x version of the app.

1. Become an Alpha tester by joining this Google Group. Join the group with the same e-mail address you use for Google Play.
2. Visit this link and click become a tester: http://bit.ly/188w7AT
3. Uninstall the Facebook app
4. Open the Play Store app and re-install Facebook by choosing Update or Install
5. Turn on automatic updates, alpha updates will be performed multiple times per week
6. Log into Facebook and you will see the new UI

If you are still seeing the old Facebook application interface, check that you have version 9.0+ on your device. After that open the Application Manager and click "Clear Data" after which you will be able to see the updated UI.

TIP: Make sure you are not a Beta Facebook tester user. If you are, leave the Google Group.
