3) Share something from your favourite App via Air-Share to the second device

Air-Share & Air-Launch were created to extend the Share & Launch features for all Android apps to share intents or launch intents between devices.
It's more than a File Transfer app; but it's no Cloud service; there is a tiny web server running inside the Air-Share app. The shared data never leaves your home network.
It allows sharing almost anything from, any app with a Share button, including large data streams.
Air-Share will use your WiFi or Ethernet network, it is not recommended for use on Mobile data networks.
It can share items that Chromecast cannot. It can queue your media links on Android TV as recommendations or notifications for later viewing. You can also share from PC/Mac/iPad to Android via your browser.
The app is great for sharing between family members. Share with Amazon Kindle/Fire devices, Android HDMI sticks and older Google TVs.
Air-Share also includes Air-Launch which is designed to launch apps remotely and side-load APKs on devices like Android TV using your phone or tablet. Air-Launch is part of the Air-Share App but appears as a separate app icon for convenience.
App Launching: Open the Air-Launch app icon and choose a device and an app to launch.
APK Side-loading: Long-press an app name in Air-Launch to download the APK from the remote device.
For non-android users, generate unique browser URLs for PC/Mac/iPad to share to your Android TV.
Your files stay on your local network. Transferred files are saved in your Downloads directory. It is your responsibility to delete them.

App Side-loading: You can use Air-Share in combination with "App Backup & Restore" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.appbackup) to side-load apps from your phone to your Android TV. Install Air-Share on both devices and pair them. Load "App Backup & Restore" on your phone and choose which app to share. Choose Share with other Apps, then Air-Share as the share destination. On the Air-Share screen choose your Android TV as the destination. (You must change your settings to allow loading apps from outside the play store.) As there is no Web Browser shipped on the Nexus Player, you may want to side-load one in addition to apps like QuickPic (Jpeg viewer). When side-loading from your phone keep in mind that the Nexus Player is an x86 device while your phone is likely ARM based, so native apps may have issues.

Incredibly awesome app for Android TV users and I completely agree with what another reviewer said.. rating this app anything less than 5 stars is blasphemy! It's not the developers fault that you're a moron and can't figure out what it's for or how to use it, so if you're considering rating this less than 5 stars how about doing us all a favor and go get yourself an iPhone instead. This app works flawlessly on my Nvidia Shield, MiiBox, and LG V20, and it makes sideloading and sharing apps between them all a breeze. Thank you devs for this awesome free app!!

This app kills my battery, even when it is not running and not in the notifications bar. The battery usage does not show up in the battery usage list, but the Google myactivity website shows the app runs dozens of times per day even when I never touch the device.

Good idea but the app has a life of its own. You have to force close it in the settings-app manager. If that's not enough, it just decides to start up again whenever it wants to. Eating the battery.

NP has 64Gb USB 3.0 Sandisk Ultra as system storage, error refers to 'emulated storage' but goes by too fast to see all..I liked it better when u could launch 'make visible' on the target, nothing but problems since that bttn greyed out... I can't get this to pair with anything. I have multiple devices and none of them can see each other. I can ping them and my home network is open. I am not sure what the problem is. UPDATE: I was able to finally pair my Nexus Player to my sons tablet. Works great, when it works. Not sure why the pairing process isn't working on most of my stuff though?

Got QuickPic up and running on the nVidia shield TV and transfered a few files over. Other apps don't work so hot. Air-Share renames files that I transfer, I wish it would keep names the same. Looking forward to trying out other side loaded apps. Great job!

I cannot pair anything. I'm sure it works for most. On Nexus 5 lists the same Player many times. I select one. NexusPlayer it seems fine and accepts the pairing. On my Nexus 5 nothing changes indicating i have successfully paired. It justs give me the option for Loop-Back not my Nexus Player

An absolute must if you have an nvidia shield. This is, by far, the easiest way to sideload the device.
