Well, thought I would give it another try. Was looking for the "Sand Fire" in Santa Clarita California. Went into Calfire, typed in Santa Clarita. Came up with listing for the "Sand Fire". Clicked on that for details. Got a message saying "This is not a Calfire incident, click on the link above for details". Clicked on "Los Angeles County" link above, and I get...404 error. This folks, is what you can expect from this completely useless app. You're better off just doing a Web search or checking the news!

Wildfire used to be a great app. But then some wise guy decided to improve on perfection and messed it up.......... in my opinion this app went from 5 stars to 1 star overnight.

Q70%
by Q####:

This could really come in good use since we live in Little Rock.

Z70%
by Z####:

I am so glad it can be useful for anywhere in the wild.

Doesn't work

L70%

This app Just links to external sites. Would like to see a map within the app to view current wildfire activity near me, or in my state, or within x miles. And would also see within the app any active warnings, watches, or evacuated areas.

J70%
by J####:

I only give 2 points because it only links you to other websites. It does have information (again websites)linked for "what to do" during and after an wild fire, I did not see an option to get notifications or warnings for my area when fires flare up so, it doesn't do any good not knowing ahead of time where the fires are...and you have to deal with the aftermath... Disappointed

by X####:

I had to review another Red Cross app for a class, so, when I realized that this one might've useful, I expected it to be something similar to the ones my classmates and I looked over. This version is really bad. There's no way to indicate your location, no way together alerts except by being sent to outside links, some of which don't work. Very useless app, really. Needs to be rethought and updated.

X70%
by X####:

I realize the app development is ongoing: so, you get an A+ for resourcefully linking to the multiple jurisdictions which fight fires and protect us. I particularily appreciate the GPS maps, with the exact locations (lat & long). By hovering over the fire icons, daily & reading the a.m. & p.m. incident reports I stayed informed on the Lake Fire & when advised, voluntarily evacuated. Thanks to this app, the necessary data links for my homeowner insurance agent were readily accessible for him to reference.

Fires don't heed state lines. Add a map showing fires within a user-specified boundary and you'll have something useful. Also, remove the links to Russian language Twitter users. Activefiremaps' mobile site has a more useful interface for immediate need. We shouldn't have to take a time-consuming test to get local info.

If you want more info on fires in a given area go to nifc.gov they have interactive maps and up to date incident reports

no place to put zip code for states or anything to keep an eye on where the wild fires are burning... it sends you straight to a web address instead of showing on a map like your other apps, I am very disappointed your other apps are better Red Cross...

You need to change this App back to the way it used to be. If you change it, then I will give it more stars.

Aren't I supposed to add locations to monitor?

D70%

Although the info was good, I was looking for a map of where any wildfires are going on now.

Great resource.

D70%

Doesn't seem to be a bad app overall, however with changes they made as of the 3rd of July 2013 no longer has locations or location tracking so until update comes cant track any fires near you

D70%
by D####:

I have a house within 7 miles of a fire and family directly in the path of the fire. When there is an active fire, you cannot read the entire description of where the fire is actually located. The description gets truncated and cannot be expanded. Also cannot limit area of where to receive alarms. Getting alarms from areas I do not need to know about. Will give 5 stars when fixed.

Y70%
by Y####:

Mapping function is horrible. Uninstalled until it's fixed. I am a fire manager. Wildfires occur in every state of the union. Granted the West has a higher propensity for damaging fire the potential is anywhere you have tall grass and woodlands. In the West, lighting in the primary cause, but in the east, arson is the number one cause. The map locator doesn't work and is showing test data from Inciweb.

D70%
by D####:

Just got evacuated from black forest, colorado and the app never even listed the fire. Yes, my location was entered.

D70%
by D####:

Fire warnings, shelter locations, tips on preparing. This app dies what you need it to if you live in a fire prone area.

W70%

A real good app to help you out with different resources and has great free maps , a flash light , a siren , all really great things to help u in an emergency found it to be a great tool for my needs .

S70%

Overall great app but the map in the alerts always shows Africa even though that is not where the fire is.

D70%

Now you don't get no updates know nothing is might as well be a useless program it was decent Delhi decide updated right in the middle of when you need it what dumbasses

Alerts didn't work well. Now instead of fixing, its been deleted. App no longer has any use. Uninstalling.

D70%
by D####:

After the update on 03JUL2013, alerts have been replaced with pointers to various Twitter accounts of Fire Departments/Agencies....not as useful....now looking for another app to use.

We had a fire across the street and this didn't even go off. I'm deleting it.

I wanted to track three wildfires in my area...all this stupid app showed was a black screen and a fire emblem in the middle, how exactly does this help me?

K70%
by K####:

A bit tough to navigate

Y70%
by Y####:

Outdated and missing critical links, no map, no notifications, confusing interface, espanol on the toolbar, bugs me to rate it. Truly the worst of the red cross apps. Needs some serious rework.

Y70%
by Y####:

All I see are links to websites to get info. What does this ap do?

P70%
by P####:

Gives no info on local wildfires, no maps, or news.
