Android Market

It was very disappointing when I tried to use the market app and given "Your client is out of date and will be automatically updated shortly". Normally I perceive shortly as in matters of secs or minutes but to my surprise, the "shortly" that was promised and even after several tries including a direct download in .apk form also failed to deliver. Its like having a car and keys but no matter how you crank or change battery, the engine is stone cold. Would have give a negative "*" if I could have done so.

I'm having the same problem...its been 3 days now. I sell computers at a very reputable electronics chain. How do I sell a tablet to people when I can't even demo it?

The Android market isnt crashed or anything! It just switched to google play. So stop yelling that its not working, because its NOT suppost to be. So calm down and stop complaining!

I was asked to download newest version of market on my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tab & after installed I kept getting messages to force closed app. I unistalled Google Play and now I am left with just the Andriod Market on my tab but cannot locate the widget. However, when I visit the Andriod Market through the web it says it's installed. Very confused. ..please help!

The only bad thing that i have to say is now the youtube app does not work. But im having no problems with the new android market for my samsung galaxy tab 10.1. :-|

Going on 8 days now without access to the Market on my Galaxy Tab 8.9. I'm unable to install or update my apps through the market website too, message says app will download shortly. Last time I checked shortly wasn't a week. Pretty unbelievable.

The 1.1.0 version on my honeycomb tablet does not support music or leaving reviews. I would rather have a fully functional market that is not optimized for tablets than what I have now.

I have a Galaxy 10.1 no Android Market.... Don't know why but for now we have to wait, it sucks but once its back up and working we'll forget it was ever down in the first place, like we always do. Then they'll add a new update and we will really forget about all of this and love are devices again... Basically my point is, this is nothing new same old same old with these gadgets

I've been trying to buy apps on my Lenovo ThinkPad and it takes me to Google Play. I nver signed up for that or anything it just changed. I went to my installed apps and i clicked on the Android Marketplace app and there was no open just uninstall. I've tried usng Google Play but it requires some stupid passwprd to buy an apl even if it's free. And for those who want t buy the iPad. My dad has the third one and he likes it, but he just got it. My friend has had her for five months, she says it's not worth it. I really hate Google Play

I love this app, but it won't play anymore because the new play store app is downloaded on my Android Tablet. I hate the Play Store app, and I wish I can have the Android Market back soon. :(

My galaxy tabs 10.1 can't run android market application, it keep saying my client out of date and will Be update shortly...........but when? Does anybody know how to fix this

Most recent update wiped out market. I tried several downloads to try and reinstall on my Galaxy tablet but didn't take. Without this app my device is screwed and will cost all app developers money the longer it takes to fix this screw up?

Client out of date message on my Tablet shuts market app down and nothing happens after that. No response from Google after days of waiting, complaining and asking for help. Lenovo has market version 1.0.27 installed. Any attempt to install current version of the market or any app from web interface of the market fails. Nothing gets downloaded to the tablet. Amazon market works well but lacks 2 apps that I desperately need right now.

Would you please just fix the issue? Things do not stop working spontaneously. Do a rollback on the server side or something. Market is part of google apps, so I can't even blame the device manufacturer.

Sme as many below me, I havethe Lenovo ThinkPad tablet and I have ben waiting for at least 4 days and it still hasn'r updated like it clais kt will. But when I was able to use it, at least it's organized. I filed a report to Android thru my browser but still nothing.

Every time I open android market it says that it's not installed!!! & now I want to install it but it doesn't do!! What should I do??

This is a total dissappointment. Cant access app on HUawei smartphone for last 2 months. Unable to access it also on my galaxy tab 10.1 for last 2 weeks.

I'm comparing you to Apples market here, and believe me others are too.. Searching is really poor for a search engine company, appalling in fact. Probably just passable for the apps part where you have many similar apps. Not for books. The results from books are scatter gun and you seem to be foisting your own idea of answers on me. If you are able to nuance the search please let me know in the help page. Some of us are not monosyllabic grunters in our search efforts! Please this is embarrassing. Why no music section? I assume legal/greed issues by the music moguls is slowing this one down for the UK, I know we are on the wrong side of the digital tracks (see what I did there!) here in non-US downtown UK but please throw us a bone! You are losing out to your competition. Finally, and getting here took about as long as finding how to comment on an app.. Why should such a valuable facility be buried approximately 10 clicks away and a switch to the web browser for feedback to developers. I have been trying to open my Android Market App for the better part of 4 days and all I receive is an error message stating that my client is out of date but will be updated automatically soon. When is soon?? Apparently I am experiencing the same problems as others who have left reviews. Come on people, how about solving the problems so we all don'f feel like chumps for not purchasing an iPad.

For example, try searching on how to enter a rating - nothing useful. What is intuitive, useful, or helpful about Settings-Purchase History-User Reviews...and opening a browser tab rather than staying in the Market app? Why isn't searching the (Google!) Market 1/100 as useful as a plain ol' Google web search? I'm trying to stay Android loyal, but my Galaxy 10.1 tablet is an infuriatingly slow, poorly designed, miserable iPad wannabe that I am close to trashing (would be cruel to donate it to charity) to give in to Apple...

This is the silliest thing I've ever experienced with Google/Android. Why are we not able to rate/comment from the market app on our tablets? Scared every crappy app out there would make the platform look bad? Well, not allowing us to have simple functionality makes you look bad....pathetic actually!!! The usability sucks: no sorting, no rating/comments, crappy in-app purchase stability, this is really disappointing! Your genius is questionable at this point.

It's hard to comment on the app itself when the previous version is broken and unusable. My app (at version 1.0.28) shows the message "Your client is out of date. It will be automatically updated shortly." After 4 days my patience is pretty well spent. I realize there are workarounds for downloading apps, but call them what they are, lame excuses. The fact is, one of the more critical applications for an Android device was rendered unusable by an unknown change and there is nothing a user can do. Android is a great platform, the Galaxy tab is great device, this app however has nothing on the Apple market apps.

Search perameters limited and very disappointing range of apps. Should be able to define search for tablets.

A glitchy, funky acting app gets an update making it a different looking glitchy, funky acting app that no longer allows updating more than 1 app at a time . Looks and acts more like the mess of an app called " app store" on ios

This is not working on my Lenovo K1 tablet. I have tried fixes online and it does not work. Highly recommend staying as far away from this as possible. I started using the Amazon App Store app. It works! Which is 100% more than I can say about this app.

Kept geting server errors when trying to view 'My Apps' so uninstalled the undate. It reinstalled straight away first time around but was still getting the error. Also getting the error on my HTC Desire HD. Google seriously need to sort their customer services out. All we want is for them to admit that the problem is being caused by them and for them to let us know that they are trying to fix it. All they told me to do was a factory data reset. I gave it a try even though I knew it wouldn't work too many pieces of the puzzle point to the problem being separate from devices or networks. As soon as I politely expressedy dissatisfaction, they started ignoring me. I have been staunchly anti-ipad and have championed Android with friends and at work to the extent that I had recommended buying 1500 devices. I am now seriously considering defecting to ipad.

this is the most important google app and i am getting out of date message for couple days now and still haven't got the update.

same clint out ofdate everyoneelse is having. so much for pruduct testing before rlease. amazon market is still working. migrating my freeapps to it.

Keeps on saying new version will be downloaded. Cant access market from my xoom. I think this is honeycomb issue.

After update to android 4.0 I have no market!!! Can not do anything. Don't know if sony problem or google

I love it, It's a wonderful site to find almost any thing you 're looking for. I come here first to see if I can find what I'm looking for before I search any other sites for free apps.

The new market place seems to have new borders on left and right which is a waste of space. Words are now cramped in a smaller box. This is not optimised fully for tablet. Fix it Google!

Waited for days for it to automatically update. Needless to say it never happened. Couldn't even make comments on original. Still liked it better aesthetically. This one doesn't seem optimized for tablet. Will update rating with fix. Love my tab though :)!!

Receiving same error as others, client out of date, will update... Has anyohne been able to resolve?

I was able to bypass the out of date error message by restoring factory settings. It's a bit of a hassle but it works.

This is simply ridiculous when you sell products that rely on Apps to exist then completely mess up Apps and not resolve it in more than a week. What the heck is going on at google? APPLE IS LIGHTYEARS AHEAD ON SERVICE

Wasted two days and no fix for Client out of date issue. Hey Goggle what about notifying users that there is a problem with the app?
