Good layout and presentation of journalism content. Free access is metered to a defined number of articles per month, and then you will be denied access unless you subscribe. This despite pop-up ads being prominent. Subscriptions are the healthiest way for newspapers to make money, but I would welcome unlimited free access in exchange for viewing more advertising or even watching a video ad upon launching the app. Writers and staff do a good job covering my local news, which is appreciated.

Re the app, I like the ability to access the print version online, but it's difficult to find contact info. Re the content, the reducing budget shows, with editorial errors not uncommon.

After reading 50 articles for free, you have to subscribe. $9.99 a month or $99 a year is WAY too much for just local news that includes advertising! I'd rather see more ads than pay for this. I have plenty of other ways to find local news online. Too bad because this is a good app!

So far, so good. Free is good.

Now that they give you unlimited stories for free I love it. I live out of Idaho and this is one of the few connections I have with home. Very easy to use and very quick app.

Notifications take you to the front page as opposed to showing the news item referenced....No one has time for that! Just make the links work properly please.

Lots of ads pop. Clicked on a story for TreeFort, got an ad, story was just the headline. Needs work...

App is OK, crashes some, and doesn't open very fast from the push notifications. Not worth paying for local news that I can get for free elsewhere.

The app is not spectacular, but it is plenty servicable. However, that is really not the point. The real issue is supporting local, professional journalism. You wouldn't expect the paper version for free, would you? Not if you want the journalists and editors to get a paycheck. And although I don't always agree with the Statesman's editorial opinions, I do think it is vitally important to have a vibrant and free local press. So pony up the $10 a month, it's worth it.

It's a free app, but you get a limited number of story views. Then they want you to subscribe. I suppose this would be fine if they didn't have advertisements all over the place as well. Give us a free app and make your money off ads like everyone else.

App was GREAT until you have to pay 70.00 annually for a subscription. I will go back to reading yesterday's paper for FREE.

Changed it so you have to buy a subscription after 10 articles. Uninstalled and stopped reading paper. Find it necessary to have revenue from both ads and subscriptions.

There are a ridiculous # of completely irrelevant pop up adds. Very annoying

Ever since the recent update the app no longer opens. When it does it's extremely slow and unresponsive. I'm using android.

I want to see local news, but not with a sponsor that promotes "chatting with local naughty women". I thought the Idaho Statesman had more class than that.

Have installed this three times over the last four months. Love it, works great but makes my Vizio tablet do weird things. I Uninstalled and tablet works just fine...???

I loved this till I I was limited on how many articles i could read. I bought the subscription but I am ready to find my news elsewhere.

Hard to navigate, crashes or locks. Poor design

This app is an improvement over the old app but... Now as I am turning the page from one story to the next I have a dealsaver add that pops up and covers my entire screen with a little tiny x in the upper corner to try and close it. I wouldn't mind if I was getting the paper digitally for free but I am not. Fix this soon or bye bye statesman

Can you bring it the "crime" section back please?

The content has stopped updating. Even when I refresh, it doesn't show current articles. Only a reinstall fixes it. Galaxy S3

Won't open! Uninstalled and could not reinstall. Not worth the effort.

Lost most of it's categories with latest update. Will probably uninstall soon

However, the app seems to require a subscription now that was previously not necessary. Free apps should be free, if a subscription is required then tell users in the description.

Love not having a stack of unread newspapers to catch up on. Has everything I want to read and don't have to thumb through all the ads!
