Benito Santo

Benito significa: "Bendecido".

En 1980 el Santo Padre Juan Pablo II nombró a San Benito como patrono de toda Europa, en el XV Centenario de su nacimiento, porque ha sido el santo que más in- fluencia ha tenido quizás en ese continente, por medio de la Comunidad religiosa que fundó, y por medio de sus maravillosos escritos y sabias enseñanzas. Benedict means "blessed."

In 1980 Pope John Paul II named St. Benedict as patron of Europe in the fifteenth centenary of his birth, because it was the saint who has had more in- fluence perhaps in Africa, through the religious community he founded, and through his wonderful writings and wise teachings.
