Reelwave is an interactive audio player app that simulates a reel-to-reel tape player. It resamples audio in real time, allowing you to hear tracks from your music library played at any speed, both forwards and backwards. Reacts instantly and smoothly to playback commands.
With the playback control buttons at the bottom of the screen you can instantly reverse the play direction, and audibly fast forward or rewind as if there were actual audio tape passing through a tape player.
Tap the down-arrow at the top of the screen to access more controls including a seek bar and a play rate slider, which allows you to change the playback rate in real time, including negative rates (reverse playback).
The animated interface is also interactive - touch the screen to grab the reels as they're spinning and rotate them manually for some fun effects.
The application's options allow you to change the reaction time of the tape deck's virtual motor when changing the play rate silder or using the play, pause, fast forward and rewind buttons.

it has all action I use to do back in the day in my studio.. NOW I wish u could put some volume meters on it and or different colours to the reels it. PS. when will there be a non beta version

As a beta version this deserves 5 stars...great how you can cue up from the gui...love it...Could you add old style VU meters on bottom left and right corners?

OK, Well first off I do want to say how impressed with the work gone into this app, it behaves soooooo like a genuine machine in many ways, BUT I would love to see some highly needed improvements and adjustments made, ie when tape is at the end it keeps turning and you have to go into pre-used apps and press X to SHUT it down, go BACK into the app and START allover, VERY FRUSTRATING, The library could be alot more detailed with columns for Artist, album maybe size for makind searching much easier. Just a couple of ideas to make deck more interesting and prevent changing screens to functionality, could you put the navigation and reverse through to forward slider on the front panel please, but (bloody brilliant control idea) LOVE the reverse feature already on front panel, and If your really keen to impress changeable VU meters on front with OUTPUT slider would make your project out of this world, HEY it's already f'n truly awesome BUT WOULD like it to excell for your sake too. Done a great job so far ( it is only early days yet) so have the confidence in your ability to improve it graetly, Reguards Matt (collector of these beautiful machines).

As a beta app, it is very good but surely it need a lot of improvement. (Will need as good as casse-o-player) It need a better look, improve the visual. For the best as reel to reel simulator, the visual does not sync to the music. Everytime I spin the reel, it does not land the same spot. For example, I spin it perfectly half circle (backward) over and over, yet the music will be ahead about 1 second every two spins.
