WVPE Public Radio App

Works well

The app ate up 2 GBs of data in three hours and I wasn't even using it. I turned the app off when I was done listening but it continued to run "in the background." It stopped after the uninstall. Guess I'll have to use the radio.

The app did what it's supposed to do, but has permissions that I don't like and is flagged by Sophos as a low reputation app

This app shuts down all the time while I am streaming programs. I have to restart my phone to get it to play again.

I like the news & blues. WVPE is extremely good on all fronts.

This I legitimately one of the best NPR stations around. Its definitely worth a try. I love it

I like the actual content and that I can see what show is playing before I choose a station, but it randomly cuts out, will start playing on it's on after being paused for awhile, and no longer automatically pauses when I answer calls.

Love that I can get all my favorite programs and stay up to date with national news.

I like getting information that I can trust. I really enjoy all of the different news programs they have.

The app tells me I don't have a cell signal even when my phone is running 4G LTE with 4 bars of service. Very frustrating.

I really wish that the app worked the entire time... I understand there are places with poor cellphone service but other apps like Pandora very rarely cut out, the WVPE app cuts out all the time, it is very frustrating! I think it has more to do with the software than the cell service because of this. If the software would automatically decrease the sample rate to elevate interruptions or just use cellphone memory to buffer 5-10 minutes for example, I would happily rate this app five stars!

I like staying connected to my favorite public radio station. This does that with its streams and immediate access to shows on WVPE along with NPR, PRI, and BBC news headlines.

This app shows it's less than perfect design when you try to turn on live streaming. It won't turn on at the first touch and sometimes you may need to persist.

The app only allows a few seconds of live stream to play, then it stops for several seconds, then it will play again for a few seconds. Best to go to the WVPE website and listen to the live stream there.

Unfortunately, the app stops working too often. I would love to be able to use it more.

Marshmallow update has killed reception. Please fix so I can change rating

Nice to have when u want to finiesh what u started listening to in the car, now u can just take it with u and not miss out.

Some programs start to play then stop. When it works right I love it. It's a library of good stuff to listen to like 2 hour recordings of Science Friday.

I love the station and it's content, but I am replacing this ap with NPR. I can never close this ap. It always stays open once I use it.

If they can work out the random crashes, it would be perfect!

Just another way to connect to the best radio station ever - all 3 channels. Plus, on-demand articles. Listen to missed stories or listen to all those pieces that you heard half of and want to hear the rest. This app is crack for fact-based information junkies.

Plays all the WVPE channels and can rewind radio. Also access to news stories. Well done!

Great to have this app. If Chromecast support were ever feasible, it would be better yet!
