ஒரு சராசரி மனிதன் நிகழ் காலத்துக்கும், இறந்த காலத்துக்கும் இடையில் அடிக்கடி சென்று வரும் பயணமே இக்கதையின் கரு. பூர்வ ஜென்ம ஞாபகங்களை கருவாகக் கொண்ட எண்ணற்ற கதைகளை நாம் இக்காலத்தில் படித்து இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் அக்காலத்திலேயே அதனைக் கருவாகக் கொண்டு கதையை அமைத்த வெகு சில எழுத்தாளர்களில் கல்கியும் ஒருவர். அது மட்டும் அல்ல உண்மையான காதலர்கள் இறந்தாலும் காதல் சாவதில்லை அது ஜென்ம, ஜென்மமாய் தொடர்ந்து வரும் என்பதற்கு இந்த நாவல் ஒரு உதாரணம். உண்மைக் காதலர்கள் அனைவரும் அவசியம் பதிவிறக்கம் செய்து படிக்க வேண்டிய நாவல் இது.

காதல் என்பது வெறும் ஆர்மோன்களின் விளையாட்டு என்று பேசித் திரியும் விந்தை மனிதர்கள் கூட இந்த நாவலை முழுமையாகப் படித்து முடித்த பின் அதனை ஆத்மாவின் ராகம் என்று உணருவார்கள். ஆக அவசியம் அனைவரும் படித்துப் பாருங்கள் கல்கியின் பெருமை மட்டும் அல்ல காதலின் பெருமையும் கூட உங்களுக்கே புரியும்.
