DroidMote emulates hardware input devices in the Android, Windows and Linux OS. Mouse, keyboard, multi touch trackpad, touch screen and a controller with 16 buttons and 6 axis that also uses the accelerometer of your client device. You can use the soft controller or an hardware controller to play with all games installed on the server device, also those without the built-in controller support in virtue of the Gamepad2Touch functionality and the help of the touch profiles. Games that support hardware controllers recognize DroidMote as an hardware controller. If you don't have a router, no problem. You can establish a connection point to point between the two devices with the function Tethering / portable hotspot of your device. (you do not need bluetooth, the bluetooth is slow and cover small distances)

Everytime there is an update this solution falls over. It should be set and forget as its most basic use case is to control units without attached HIDs. The dev always responds like it doesnt really happen or there are no problems but look at all the other comments. It does... Dev, listen to your customers.

How about a tutorial?? Do you need root? It's ask for server IP so I put mine in and nothing. I'd love to give good rating but not no explanation on how to get it to work on any device like Nvidia shield for example. All the videos I see NEVER show how to set it up just how to touch all the buttons on screen really fast to show it works which it does, but how! I'll fix rating when there's a basic set of instructions or a proper 60 second video because I'm sure that's how long it takes to get this working.

I use this on my cellphone to control my android tv box running kodi. Was working perfectly but now it disconnects after about 5 minutes and I have to restart the server and reconnect the client. Seems fine after that though for a while. .. Eventually disconnects and I have to restart client again

Excellent! If you have an Android Box as your TV console, this is a *must-have* application (both the client and the server). Your device needn't be running Android TV for this to work (that's the whole point of this app). Just buy it. It's worth it.

This is the best Android -> Linux BT Gamepad option out there...unfortunately it kind of sucks and doesn't live up to the other BT Gamepad solutions available for Mac and Win. :/ Please devs, could you add gamepad customization?

This app is excellent. Its buggy if you're using an lg keyboard but thats fixed by switching to Gboard. I have a suggestion under media controls add a shortcut button to toggle fullscreen for videos.
