-------------------

Vanguard V is a fast action VR experience that takes you on a journey from the low orbit of our planet, down to the very core. Designed for VR from day one, Vanguard V is a celebration of control, design, and amazing music.

Production of this title is a collaboration of eight team members. Much of the talent was sourced from dedicated people in the reddit community. From voice acting to chip tune music, reddit has been instrumental in making this VR experience a reality. The power of the internet is truly amazing.

Vanguard V is an all-new Virtual Reality action game that takes the best aspects of flight and adventure. Driven by music, story, and innovative VR design, Vanguard V is a celebration of gameplay to welcome Virtual Reality to the world.

You play as Qu, who has tracked the parasite menace from worlds afar and with the help of her A.I. companion, BiT, is fighting to save the planet's inhabitants from utter annihilation. Fly in low orbit while re-entering the atmosphere, skim the waters of the ocean, dive into the tunnel from the initial impact and make your way to the center of the planet to exterminate the source of the parasite infestation. Lock on with your VR targeting system and blast through the alien threat!

Virtual Reality

is a new frontier. I believe in VR so much that I'm risking everything, leaving a safe industry job and bringing together a small group of experienced game devs I've worked with in the past to create something that we're all passionate and excited to make.

Going indie takes a lot of hard work. You have to handle hardware, licensing, software, coding, everything. With that responsibility comes the freedom to make a pure gaming experience that is only bound by your imagination and dedication.

This is a game studio in the making. A studio not only supportive, but dedicated to titles designed for VR from the very beginning of production. We are comprised of a small group of industry veterans and a collection of talented individuals discovered through the wonders of the internet, that are all excited to bring you this fun and immersive title.

It is a joy and honor to create games for everyone to play. With Virtual Reality soon to hit the masses, game developers have an opportunity to connect to the players in ways previously impossible. I couldn't be more excited than I am right now to make games.

Beyond the foundation of the game's development - 3D art, design, and code, which is developed locally - the extra talent contributions have been made possible by reddit. The voice work, script writing, cover art, and much of the music have been produced by individuals I recruited through reddit. With reddit, I've found some fantastic talent who will help really bring this title to life.

The contributions you provide will fund the developers and the talent who, up until now, have all donated their time and energy without any financial gain. While this is a great testament to how much we love and believe in this title, it's still a strong limiting factor on how far we can take the game's production.

But it's not just the cast and crew that believe in this project. Sony and Oculus have been fantastic at ensuring that we have the tools and hardware that we need to bring great VR to the masses.

It is our goal to have Vanguard V finished by the launch of the Sony Morpheus and Oculus Rift and available on Mobile VR platforms.

Well I have discovered google cardboard. was going to guy one but ended up making one using old binocular lenses and the old samsung s5 box the samsung came in. and I'm blown away. definitely need more of this. this is how I wanted to be gaming 30 years ago.. finally, I did get to see it, and it was made out of card board all along.. lmao... *and some googles but sooooo* cant wait for any updates or more from you.. Cheers!

No way to control game that I could figure out. Daydream controller is useless. I think this game is desperately in need of an update to the latest Android VR SDK.

Visually stunning however the target and shooting mechanic needs a lot of work. Its unclear to the user if you look at the enemy to shoot or use a gamepad. Every time i hit the "trigger" as you refer to it, the game pauses. Im unable to tell if by looking at the targets im actually shooting anything as its very hard to differentiate a clear weapon blast coming from the character or a baddies death amidst all the other colours and action. Please make this 100x more clear to the user

Excellent VR demo. Graphics are a little choppy, but looks great overall. Could easily see this as a full paid game. Maybe target higher specs and notch up the fidelity? First person would be nice too.

Sad it's a little short. This game works great and runs great. Reminds me of old Sega games. Would definitely buy a full version.

This has so far been the most visually impressive cardboard game I have played. The game play is great too. It is somewhat like Rez or Panzer Dragoon. Very fun and immersive. Runs pretty well on my Fire phone. Can't wait to see more of this game.

Absolutely love this and am going to see where this story goes. This game is what I show people when they want to try out their first vr experience/game. Can't wait for the next level and would love to see this have Bluetooth controller compatibility for Androids on Google cardboard. Thanks for this game and look forward to more!

I have the Oneplus One phone and the Google cardboard. When I start the game, it won't focus right and it's still cross eyed. Please help

Objective not clear. Is it a shooting game? When I pulled the magnet, it paused. Nice graphics.

Having seen footage of the Oculus version of this, I was so excited to install this on my Xperia. Visually, it's truly stunning; you're almost too distracted by the beauty of the environment to pay attention to the game. Audio is top notch too, as is the voice acting. Controls however are literally a pain, needing the neck muscles of an F1 driver to move around. I also have absolutely no weapons control. So close to perfection...

[About the game] For you older gamers out there, this [sample] is the original Panzer Dragoon, but in space and in VR. It's quite short as it is only a demo for a forthcoming full game, but looks great, plays great and sounds great, and there's some replayability in there if you want to score attack. [About the VR experience] This is one of the better feeling VR apps I've tried, the 3D effect feels natural and there's no oddness to flying around. The visuals are toned down from the PC/Oculus version so it remains fast and fluid enough to provide a good experience even on phone hardware.

I did end up enjoying this short demo after getting used to the way it controls. Starting off with a little more of a tutorial would have been nice. Still hard to tell how to dodge some objects. Looking forward to more progress on this game.

Very cool, can't wait for more! Just got my first Cardboard today and have been trying and deleting things like crazy, but this I'll be keeping. This is how VR action gaming should be done. Thank you!

S70%
by S####:

First of all, the game is only one level and states that it is still being made. But it was a lot of fun and one of the best cardboard experiences I have had. It's immersive and looks great. The only bad thing is that it doesn't explain too well how to destroy the enemies so that was confusing and some times there were frame drops. Other than it I hope I can play more of it someday.

I have an xperia z2 and I know they are tricky, the magnet needs to be on the other side of the cardboard in order to work and all but seriously, why is it that the trigger button works with some apps but not with others like this one? Other than that, great game!

S70%
by S####:

Even from the short demo, this was amazing. The graphics were fantastic, the voice actors were great, and the soundtrack really drew me in. I wish there were a bit more to gameplay than point and glide, maybe incorporate the trigger on the cardboard? Also, a first person view would be fun. But overall I LOVED it. It reminded me of old Nintendo games like StarFox or Kid Icarus. It just gave off a great vibe. The short gameplay definitely left me wanting more!

I70%
by I####:

Drifted through space with some red and green hud bits displaced and wobbling about. Looked super cool, but no speed, direction or firing controls. Just pause and watch. Terrible drift too, all other apps work fine. I've played most of the vr games. This one didn't seem to be more than a rail demo that paused on trigger action? Pretty and pointless? I completed level 1 by watching only. Don't quit your day job?! Games need points and controls. Not a win by watching limited demo video in vr

S70%
by S####:

Its awesome. Perfect for VR gaming experience. But it does not respond to my magnet trigger. Why? Ill give you 5 star for answer

S70%
by S####:

I really like the look and feel of this game but it says to use trigger to fire. Every button i press on my bluetooth game pad pauses the game :(. Could you please fix so that i may enjoy this game to its full potential.

G70%

Maybe have the button held to shoot and have a button in the top right to pause? Autofire feels weird

S70%
by S####:

Great graphic, soundtrack, gameplay I'm not sure if I'm the only one that got heavy drift or not but at start it fine then I have to keep turning to the center then I realised I did a 180 turn in real life

K70%

Super reality but there is need one improvement . 1. Below side make mauntain. Riveres . Clouds . For . Believe that he is on the earth not in University. I feel horrible when i feel alon in the University.

S70%
by S####:

The problem with Google cardboard apps is they all have some level of drift. No matter how still you hold your head, the camera will start to turn one direction or the other and will never stop. So while you start off looking from above your character after 20 seconds she's nowhere to be seen but you're still expected to dodge the rocks that you also can't see. This game seems to have some of the worst drift I've ever come across.

It is really a shame that i can't pay the developer who is trying so hard to make such an awesome game available on every possible vr platform. I really appreciate your effort and I hope you could complete the game soon because i am eagerly waiting for it. BEST OF LUCK

You may start by looking forward in your chair, but by the time you reach the end your looking to the far right, painfully so. Why is it painful? Cuz you don't want to hit an asteroid haha. Great content. 6/10 for graphics

The people that are complaining about the drift... note that that is from ur device. The makers of the app can't stop that. If you want to use vr apps, do it sitting in a swivel chair. Problem solved. Your welcome.

I get a strange bug where the head tracking is jittery and unplayable. Same thing happens in the 'Alien Apartment' Cardboard demo. Guessing it's the version of Unity/Cardboard SDK causing the bug, as not all Unity demos have this same bug. Using CM12.1 (Lollipop) on a Note3.
