Certification Standards

These certification standards are used to verify reliability and privacy compliance of Android applications published on AndroidBlip and create a consistent experience for our users. Adherence to these standards ensures your application certification.

  1. Accessing and sending any sensitive data by your app anywhere else beyond the device is relevant to the app's functionality. We consider sensitive data to be, without limitation, user's private data (address book contacts, browser history and bookmarks, calls history and messages, user account data), device's sensors data (camera, microphone, GPS, accelerometer and gyroscope data), and user's device id data (IMEI, IMSI, ICCID). The use of such data should be required for application’s functions or provide important additional benefits for the application’s functions in order for an application to be certified.
  1. Sending any sensitive data by your app anywhere else beyond the device is always explicitly authorized by the user. Collection of the personal data is explicitly prompted by the application (the best method) or it is accepted in the user agreement prompted by the application on first run after installation (the minimal requirement). A clear explanation in an easy to understand language is used to notify the user. The only possible but not desired exception is where the core application function implies the personal data usage directly, e.g. SMS data for an SMS management application.
  1. Your application is fully compliant with own personal data usage policy. Sensitive data usage depends on user’s decision. Your application does not use any sensitive data in case of user’s refusal. Your application does not use any sensitive data earlier than the user’s consent is obtained.
  1. Your application provides functions according to the description. Your app description is transparent and comprehensive about what you do with sensitive data. Your privacy policy, notices and alerts are accessible and explain, in an easy to understand language, exactly what you do with sensitive data.
  1. Your app description is transparent and comprehensive about advertising used in app, in-app payments utilized, social networks and 3d party cloud storage services integrated, if any. Your application does not use any functions that charge a fee without user's knowledge and explicit consent.
