About Beeper
Need to be able to use your phone as a drop-in replacement for a pager? Do you need support for MMS as well as SMS? Would you like to have your phone silenced except for your alarm clock and pages? Then this is the app for you.
For SMS, the application looks at both the sender and the message. For MMS, it only looks at the sender.
The pattern that you want to set is either a phone number in the case of an SMS or an e-mail address in the case of an MMS. The application does not try to look at your contact list.
For example, suppose that you get an e-mail from "remedy@example.com" via MMS. You would simply put "remedy@example.com". If you get a text from 555-867-5309, you should set a pattern like "5558675309".
For SMS messages, you can also match on text. For example, if you see something like "Sev 2" in your SMS messages, you could set that as your pattern.
Once you have configured a pattern, you can simply close the application. If you get an SMS or MMS that it thinks matches the pattern, then it will pop up a notification on your phone.

I set the pattern to text that is from the sender, but just does not work at all on samsung 5. Are there instructions on how to do the pattern somewhere? See others have asked as well and no answer.

Used to use Klaxon but it no longer works with Lollipop (silent when phone volume down). This pager app is even simpler than Klaxon & works a treat!

I like this app as it works well when setting up the Match Pattern for a single sender (#) or email address. I am wondering if this app has the capability of having multiple Match Patterns and if so how to add multiples. I tried separating with a comma, colon and semi-colon and it would NOT work. 4 stars for now 5 stars if there is a way to add multiple patterns.

this application does what it's supposed to do by turning your text message alert into a ringtone. It is helpful for me a physician as I was afraid the text message alert would not wake me up in the middle of the night.. however one annoying feature is that it is very difficult to turn it off as well. It would be helpful if you could hit the power button of the device or an easier way to silence the application

So is there like a website or a manual we can look at to set this thing up? Downloaded installed, turned on alerts. Then what? Some info on how this thing works and instructions would be appreciated

Works great, woke me up from deep sleep as expected. Unfortunately it got my whole family up, as I couldn't find any way to turn off the alert. Ended up having to shut phone off.

Seems to work... but I can't use it. The app itself is clean and easy to use. The app works but is missing one major feature that makes it unusable for me. On my device... Samsung Note 3, I do not see an option to allow alerting even if sound is off. From screenshots in store, this option was there. I'm giving 4 stars, becasue it works. I'll gladly change to 5 if the feature is added back or if the screen shots are updated to not mislead. UPDATE: Was 4 Stars, now 5 Stars due to exceptional support from developer. Was able to work through setup issue and make functional!

I was very disappointed at how limiting the sound choices were. It seemed like all choices over a specific length weren't played. This made it impossible for me to set my pager sound to Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" like I wanted.

Very easy to set up and works well on the Nexus 5. Really like that it flashes the notification light red when you have a page. Within hours of installing I got a high sev page :(

T-Mobile uses MMS for longer messages, rather than truncate them as some carriers do. This is a very simple app that just does the right thing, and works with MMS. I'm very happy with the simple UI.

On Google Fi, using a Nexus 5x, does not work on MMS messages. Stays completely silent and misses pages. Useless now.
