Using Crypten you can encrypt anything on your mobile device.This encryption app offers a comfortable and secure way to keep files with confidential data encrypted using most secure encrypting and hashing algorithms.
Using latest material design principles, this app gives you a easy way to keep your files secret and secure.
You can encrypt your files with a Text Based Password or select a File as password.
Text messages are encrypted using AES algorithm which is protected by a password. These encrypted messages can be sent to all your favorite messaging apps and social networks. You can send secret information like bank account numbers, license information etc to any person very safely. Even if somebody reads the message, he will not get anything out of it because after encryption its absolutely safe.

It would be useful if the auther/dev would also offer compatible releases for desktop computers and non-Android systems. That way, one could exchange encrypted files. As is, it's more of a superfluous alternative to Android's native crypto functionalities. Yet, that's just me thinking out loud...

There are no pop-ups,works exactly as described just can't fault it.Will recommend to anyone needing privacy for their data.I just have two questions.1) what is the encryption protocol used(eg.is it aes,des,blowfish...ect.) (2)And the output data from normal text(not file) encryption is it in the form of base 64 or other encoding?

Cryogen has a modified version of aes, which if you didn't know, takes years to break, and is one of the best encryption methods out there today. This app makes encryption/decryption simple with a simple GUI. This is a handy tool for all kinds of sensitive data. 10/10 I suggest adding different kinds of cryptors, but that's just my suggestion.

When it works, it's very fast. However it doesn't work on my SD card. However, the real problem with these things is you don't always have the app when you need it, or on another platform. Data is easily transferable, application programs aren't.

Will NOT work with program/screen over lay turn on thru ANY app....to much work to turn off EVERY little thing for apps now days so bye bye to another app.

I also don't like lying. The app would not work for me. I'm not a newbie to what can go wrong with apps so I chose an unimportant file to use. It encrypted the file just fine but could not decrypt it. After 3 tries the program crashed. This happened twice with different files and passwords. I made sure the password, which was 'practice1', was correct each time. Sorry dev! Keep working on it. Maybe it was just my device. 3 stars for effort. (Samsung Galaxy Tab E-SM-T377A)

Works good with my alcatel one touch, I like the feature of where you can encrypt you messaging (phone service & other messaging services) ..... Just make sure the other individual has the same app so they can decrypt it ,also found this encryption program is hard to crack tried it myself on my on cypher testing it out

When you select a file to use as a password it deselects the the file you want to encrypt, making it impossible to enrypt chossen file, only works with chosen text password.

Easy to use with very smooth workflow - Smart contemporary GUI - Thanks for Ad free. Would like option to use BOTH keyboard and file together for a password key as this would allow to use a shorter but safe password that is easy to remember. Also perhaps to consider option of encrypting a whole folder/directory - could be used as a Vault/Container.
