An option to set a default device to load upon app start would be nice, instead of having to select a device Every time the app is started. In landscape view, it would be nice to be able to use all the same functions as in portrait view. One of the rows of selections is missing in landscape view which includes HD button to select the video feed you are viewing. You then, have to rotate back to portrait, select other feed, then rotate back to landscape. Two way audio does not work through Amcrest NVR. You must be logged in through the desired camera. App hangs when closing. Still haven't been able to view my snapshots from NVR.

Latest update broke LTE remote connection. Does not connect to any of my 3 cameras and just times out even with a strong 4G connection. Wifi connection still works but not much use if you want to check cameras with your phone. Look elsewhere until they fix whats broke.

It's not working outside of my home wifi. It keeps loading and nothing loads up. Update: the customer support is good. They respond quickly and follow up to make sure your issue is resolved. There only problem with mobile app is time to time it stops connecting to camera. If the camera is restarted it connects automatically.

Camera was working fine and then all of a sudden stopped showing any event alerts no matter how many times I try and adjust the settings it refuses to show any alerts. Basically it's useless unless you're watching at the time of the event. If someone kicks your door in and you're not watching the stream you will have no video footage of the event. Super garbage cameras.

Poorly laid menus and functions. E.g. you can't set up time/date but from a computer based app. Or you get a push notification every ten seconds for movement alert. Will not buy again this brand. The smartphone app is very important. As important as the lens the cam uses imho. If they didn't realize this too bad.

(amcrest HD 2k model) Had to do a factory reset my camera after trouble shooting it but it's working. The app works fine on my S8+ and iPhone6 so far and is easy to operate/understand.

This seems to be a good system for watching cameras live. Setup can be complicated if you are not network savvy. Amcrest is very helpful in resolving issues if they are contacted. My only concern is I have multiple users and an unable to export the Device list to other mobile devices. This causes lots of individual setup however once completed works great. The PC app does have a export feature that is easy to find and creates an XML file that can be imported to another PC. Amcrest please impediment this into the mobile app. :)

Update: This app sucks. It crashes almost every time even when I just leave it opened without doing anything. Below average app This app is missing a lots of functionalities from the Amcrest View browser pluggin for the computer. I don't want to have to use the PC just to change some settings. Not all menu buttons are available in live view landscape mode. The app often stops working on my Samsung S4. Help in the app is minimal. It needs to explain what the settings do. There are some settings I don't know how they work. I had to search Amcrest support forum to find the answers. Lastly, the interface looks ugly and confusing. I suggest you take a look at apps from other companies to get some ideas.

Too many keystrokes to get to playback. I just want playback. Never can find snapshot even though I have it selected and SD card is installed. Terrible app that keeps crashing!! Ugh

Region setting does not work. No matter how I adjust it the motion detection keeps going off every second sometimes more. Playback does not work when either. This app is a pain.

It does its job plus a few additives like being able to record and speak through the camera like a 2 way radio. That's pretty cool and have used it a few times. Things get tough when you forger your password but that's not supposed to be easy to get. All is well.

The camera system is excellent but this app is terrible. It has WAY too many options and most don't work. All I want in an app is 2 things: I want to see a live preview and I want to be able to look at past recordings. I can get to a live preview with several clicks, but can't see anything recorded on my NVR. Whoever wrote this app, thought MORE is better and tried to do way too much with this app, while missing the basics.

Pro HD was working fine for about a week and now it won't even connect to the app anymore. I've reset numerous times and resintalled. What a complete waste of time. Back to Amazon it goes!

While the camera is good and the app is easy to use, the app has its issues. 1st - you need to have a computer to change the time on the app. If you don't own a computer, you're SOL. 2nd - you need to change the HD settings every single time you open the app up, it defaults back to the basic settings in SD, and when you click HD same thing, it defaults to low settings (10 fps, low bitrate). 3rd - every time you open the app, you have to select what camera to view, instead of opening the last camera viewed. A little annoying.

Shockingly buggy, crashes constantly but at least it's consistent (you quickly learn which actions crash it.) I can't find out why it's deleting footage after a few hours even though I'm using 32gb SD cards. Setup was difficult and buggy but through a lot of finagling got it to work. The camera hardware itself seems quite good so it's a shame the app is so bad. It's difficult to imagine that if the front end is this sloppy, that it would be relatively secure from hack attempts as well. I hope they will improve it.

Overall the app works well. I had to reinstall to get the playback feature to work (I use SD card). Daily restart feature stopped the camera from locking up every 2 days.

In this recent past month (February 2018) I've done extreme research on wireless cameras. And I bought several... 1= Canary Flex 2= Arlo Pro 2 3= Foscam 4= Amcrest 2k I said to myself, the only way I can really test all 4 is by installing each camera in the exact same location. One at a time. The first 3 were pretty good, but all 3 had pros & cons. But when I installed the Amcrest, I saw a significant difference apart from the rest. This camera is incredibly high tech and amazing. I can't believe I paid $89 for this camera. It outperforms the others. I can't say this camera is perfect, but I can definitely rate it a 4.8 out of 5*. And customer service is superior. As far as thee app, it needs improvement a 3.5*

Occasionally crashes, but restarts quickly. I have a mix of IP and hardwired cameras running through an Amcrest DVR system, and this app consolidates them all into one view, which is really nice. The cameras are easily added if on the same WiFi network, or via scanning a QR code.

Next time you read ,if half said it bad don't waste you're money! Tried everything now I'm Stuck with it,got a professional installer it saves money and time,don't know who gave all those great reviews I gave the camera to a friend and they gave it back and now it's sitting in a box in the garage ready for recycling can't give it away! Thanks Amcrest.....

For $99 solution it's remarkable. Not sure why so many people seem to having issues. Our setup and configuration was quick and painless. A good working knowledge of your network will lead you to overcome any connectivity problems.

Used to be fast , slow now. Most times cam image just doesn't load. Software is unnecessarily complicated.

The app crashes constantly,especially when try to view playback,and I just updated it too,also there browser app is useless also,none of the plugins work anymore even for chrome,it loads but is buggy and the motion zones are unable to be changed.

So crappy that I spent money and got a different app and camera system management system just to be able to connect. Does not connect searching is a pain. This is not worth the bandwidth I used to download it.

Since last two updates I noticed it has taken a long time for video to display on app when on 4G connection. It has slowed down tremendously.

App keeps shutting down during camera setup. When I restart app it says camera already exists and doesn't let me proceed. So I delete and start over. Again and again. I'll never know if the camera works because the app it's such a pos.

You can't add a PC-NVR to the device list on this app. What's the point of having IP cameras if you can't see recordings? I'll edit this rating, if they change it. Edit:keeps crashing on Oreo

Cameras worked fine for a while. Now we get "User is Locked" frequently when trying to login using our phones. Not worth our time to delete the cameras and resync them again. Probably just going to toss them and get more reliable ones.

Very disappointed. Cameras will not maintain their date no matter what you do. Always resetting to 2000-01-01. Unreliable= unuseable. Awful firmware. Find something that works. The cameras are junk.

So far, so good! Still getting familiar with features, but right now I'd say Amcrest has a good product. I have the IP3M-956E and am extremely happy with it - would recommend it to anyone wanting something a little more in CCTV.

Easy to connect cameras. Setup on app is different from desktop. The desktop is like the main setup and the app is a limited version. Notifications don't always configure correctly and neither do the region settings. Emailing a snapshot works great but don't know why there's a 10 second delay. Accessing the memory card hardly ever works and video playback is complicated. When I do get an alert and go to pull up a live view I cannot always connect to my camera right away getting a login timeout error. This could happen 3 times before it finally connects. I'm considering another camera but considering that I have 2 of these I'm thinking of just dealing until I can't take it anymore. Would I recommend? NO, keep looking is my recommendation.

Really happy with the latest firmware update on my NVR along with the app update. Fixed a lot of quirks I was seeing.

App worked fine then today it randomly stopped. I uninstalled it and connected all my cameras again and they won't show up. This isn't the first issue I've had with Amcrest. Night owl and Lorex offer better software.

Took a while to setup but now I can view it from home and anywhere else from my phone. With push notification you can setup motion detect. I Also run a PC-NVR to record all cameras on my laptop for later review.
