I have a big old house. I don't want it to adjust my heating based on my location. All I want is a big shiny on and off button. I can't install this on my none techy wifes phone she would never be able to operate it. When I showed her she just said I'll call you to operate it. I'm not interested in the GPS stuff but I keep coming home and finding the heating on. I don't think this subscription will last long! Doesn't work well on android tablets. Will not rotate.

Doesn't always register the coming and goings of us all. But generally works really well. Annoying when it doesn't work though!! Good to have control when needed ;-) Generally getting better though!!

Nice app once you'll get to know it but it is quitte annoying that it always need to have a mobile data connection. When it doesn't have a connection it keeps asked ng to change your data settings. Not very convenient when you're travelling.

Man kann nicht mehr als 25grad einstellen und auch nicht die Heizung auf komplett ein stellen. Manchmal hat das schon Sinn. Widgets wären auch toll! Ein Knopf für alle Heizungen eine bestimmte Temperatur wäre auch nicht schlecht. (So eine Art Boost Modus) und schlafen Modus...

App works great now that I've discovered that new functionality in android can actually adversely affect the location functionality of this app, and the battery! Don't let battery optimisation touch this app or restrict background data and it works a treat!

I like the app, it is now easy to use Nd the scheduler is intuitive. But the app suffers from excessive battery drain. So the other members of our household uninstalled it, which limits the benefit of the @home function

Love this app for controlling my central heating, great for when coming off night shifts in the middle of winter and no more worries about forgetting to turn the thermostat down. Easy to use programmable settings and helpful support from Tado

Great app, prompt support, Great device... and there still making it better all the time. Well worth it compared to the competition

Easy to use

Along with many others the app repeatedly forgets my device and has started requesting new device installation at start up (not an easy process). Temporarily resolves after phone reboot but then after a time same happens! So basically my heating isnt working. I can see under "whats new" you have "Resume ongoing device installations" so maybe this new bug is linked to this change?

Since a recent update the app does not know i have left my house... So pointless. It was working fine before. Also app constantly logs me out. Please fix

The app is really good, easy to use and even easier to programming a schedule, the only issue is have is that even though it works well over WiFi i was informed that it still requires mobile data to be turned on, which as far as i can see it doesn't. All i want to do is a suppress the notifications telling me to turn it on, but to do that i was told to turn the location based programming off which in my mind is one of the key functions of the app. As i don't have mobile data this notification is annoying, but as long as i connect to one of the hundreds of WiFi hotspots it works fine. Please add the option to use mobile data, WiFi or both in a future update.

To echo the recent comments, the latest upgrade has a big problem which needs fixing urgently. Seems to affect all Android smartphones. You can overcome the issue temporarily by closing down the Tado app then reopening but it goes back to the grey 'New Installation' screen when you go into the Tado app minutes later. Come on Tado, sort it out!

Bit dodgy after 3.9.0 update - seems to keep forgetting my account until i click around the menu.

For some reason , i cant get the daily temperature chart up. Each time i open it up in the android app, i just get a white screen, This was not happening before....

Latest update defaults to the new installation screen, doesn't show outside temperature and doesn't show the location of devices!

Worked great until latest update. Now just keeps asking for a new installation. Please fix.

Good, for now. A few bugs still need to be resolved. Geotag not always working i.e one phone still in house when out? Needs a legend or key for the stats i.e what is flame, hand, water droplet etc. Graph could be brighter and bolder with more information. UI feels a bit basic. Also the heating costs intermittently show as £0.00 cost?

Use this app for smart radiator valves only. Works as expected. Lots of options to tinker around but after a week using it, it really couldn't be easier. Would love to see notification support and ifttt and stringify functionality with the valves too. Will add more valves as i get the funds together.

Good app with all the features. Having worked for a German company though, please employ a British or Scandinavian design agency to create a new UI. As with anything German, it has all the correct features but, the interface is fiddly. Just a simple skin change costing less than £50k will make a world of difference! Also, please introduce a 7-day (individual) scheduling option.

It used to work perfect, but last half of the year geo-detection is hit and miss. Way too often it doesn't work like it used too, and doesn't detect user leaving home or coming back home. This way costs of heating go up, or you come back to cold home. Not sure I would go into this investment again at the moment.

The tado system works very well and it is very simple, the support is very good. The app looks great, but misses still some features. Why not provide some manual for the devices rather than rely only on a step by step process in the application? Or at least allow for a glance at the steps beforehand in case something goes wrong halfway? The data view in the app is also awfully slow.

Unreliable at detecting location. Currently sat at home and it thinks I'm miles away, with high accuracy location enabled. Saving money but freezing!

It's getting better but still registers us as being away when we've long since got home, which causes the house to be cold for longer than necessary, quite often. Please fix this, it's gone on long enough now.

Used for simple heating control. Works well with the odd location error which leaves heating on when we are away. You just have to check the app on leaving home.

Basic app but works ok. Needs a facility for specifying how far away you need to be from home before the heating turns off.

The app works really well for me. My wife and i have it on our phones and geotag works well too. Setting the smart schedule is a bit fiddly on the app, so i used the pc for that.

Great way to control tado, only downside is on Android it regularly doesn't update location. On iOS it seems fine. I've applied all recommended Android settings. Instead you should show a low priority ongoing local notification as Android will leave your background service running and you can do location updates

Really starting to get fed up with the fact that geo fencing doesn't work well. Just had another cold shower because I didn't know that both phones were detected as being away from home despite one being in all day and the other having returned 2 hours ago.

Working fine for now only problem is a bit confusing setting hot water times. Could be simpler to set
