Ok so I have a very nice S7 cellphone. Lovely cam too. WHY then do I have to spend more money just to add another cam to this device? Are apps not suppised to at least make use of the integrated hardware as well? Have no prob that someone who do not have a good cellphone cam buys your product. COME ON GOOGLE APP STORE.....BE A BIT ON THE SIDE OF ANDROID USERS TOO.

Cool thermal camera, subpar app. Compact Seek Camera works great with Note 4- plugs in and app launches automatically. Image quality is good though it takes some effort to focus properly. Temperature ratings are reasonably accurate. App needs improvement. First, there are too many permission request. Second, on the Note 4, the video record feature crashes the app after a few seconds. Files are unable to be played. Image capture works fine. Overall, I would recomend this camera but the app needs improvement

Why I have to log in every time I want to use it ? The camera were paid. I've a problem with this stupid just for using the camera. Your guys are very smart to build this but you should fire the one who wrote the app. Just get rid of the confusing sign-in because sometimes took me 3 to 4 minutes to get it going. Are you trying to spy to see what we are looking at by having us log in every time in order to use the camera ?

Everything worked fine on my sg5 but not on my pixel phone. the recommended USB OTG from seek website works exactly as they describe on the sg5. Seek says the video recorder feature will not work on the pixel, they're correct. This is a pretty lousy investment. I purchased it less than 2 years ago. I should get more out of this device, at least not to be failed by the company's negligence.

Works great! Any real issues are with the camera itself. Video and photos work nicely. The various color schemes and metering modes are good to have. TIP: Take photos right after a click so that the image is clearer. -Galaxy S7 -Seek Thermal Compact

Autoranging is horrible if it can't be disabled. Especially with the lack of a key on the scale, there is no way to know what temperature any detail anything on the image is. A fixed palette, and if you click either end of the temperature scale they stick, or you can flick up and down, even just a text box for max/min would be better.

Compact on Note 4 and sg5 Worked as expected. Not intended for professional work but could do the job i believe. Allowed me to view the world in a different light (wavelength). I would love to have an API for this, or guide to interface to microcontrollers. Also accessories to allow zoom or telescopic capability would not hurt. Is a Treasure to behold.

The imager is only as good as its software... So far the lack of features is a big setback. No way to calibrate the measurements, customize the palette, or set reflectivity. Disabling features based on the model price rather than hardware capabilities is bad PR imho.

Great app, but on my Samsung S7 i cannot take pictures, i have had to resort to taking screen shots and cropping all the irrelevant stuff off. Defiantly worth five stars if the photo function resumes working. I have also tried updating the phone and the app, but no luck so far; worked brilliantly on my old Samsung S5. Please fix

by L####:

Was a great tool for years, but doesn't work on the S8+. The new app is cluttered, and annoying to use. Their near insistence on registration is unacceptable as well. The hardware is great, but the continued lack of a decent app to run it has removed any value from the camera.

U70%
by U####:

Terrible ios port. Split view does not merge automatically in gallery. Each merge has to be done seperately no multi select. Seems to think on each email export you always wanted to send to seek email address. Timestamp overlay does not work. A 5 year old could do a better job

I see some whining about using this app with a USB type C OTG adapter. Maybe it's just my phone but I think the performance is better with my new LG G6 and said adapter than I saw on the Droid Turbo 2 I was using. The one feature that needs to be a priority is a rotating screen. I would love to use my Samsung tablet but it has the USB port on the top so. Unless I use an unwieldy cord, it just doesn't work.

One would think if a firmware change rendered your product useless, you would be more aggressive in your dealing with android. I wish I could give it less stars. I have 8 devices and it only works on a tablet. Expensive and disappointing.

U70%
by U####:

Lots of reviews here slating the android app. I just used the 'new' version and agree with the general sentiment - not intuitive, badly designed and laid out, and camera alignment which is a major functionality should work OOTB. Disappointing that i dont see any reply from Seek....

by U####:

I have never used a thermal imaging device before, but this is simply amazing! I love the range of capabilities that it has... I can see my granddaughter's handprints on the wall, and I can see boats in a lake over a thousand feet away!

Would it be possible to add an option in the software to use the sensor with VR goggles? I know there wouldn't be depth perception since you can't add a second camera easily to the device in order to make it stereoscopic, but I think it should still work great for augmented reality... Just have to cut a bit of the VR goggles away where the camera attaches, add the option in the software, and you can see like Predator! You could also add depth perception if you really wanted to, but that would require at the very least a Y splitter to add a second stock camera or a custom second camera, and/or custom VR goggles.

This is a cool device: horrible software. I have 5 different Android devices and my camera now works on, oh, NONE of them. Adapters I use on my Nexus 5 that work with everything else, don't. Got the new Pixel and though that just has to work: Negative. The only thing I ever gotten it to work on was a Moto X 1st gen.

Seek is the better imager. The poor quality app is holding Seek back. Change the home screen, I'm tired of that guy looking at me. Revamp the app design, FLIR's app looks and functions better than our Seek app. Seek needs to step it up. Add a beta test group so we can help shape the app the way your users want it.

Z70%
by Z####:

My friend has FLIR 1 for iphone and both the device and software put this to shame. It perfectly layers the thermal cam with its optical cam into a usable image. I am sorry I bought the seek product its second rate.

U70%
by U####:

The latest app is even less useful than the original. I really dislike the auto ranging for the color palette. They don't appear to have fixed it. The app layout changed greatly, it is much more awkward to use, not intuitive at all. The cameraimages no longer seem as crisp as they did with the previous app. And I really thought the old app was horrible. I'm about to buy another cheap IR camera. First seek was stolen. My current one appears to have just been damaged from a short drop. My third camera will not be a seek.

U70%
by U####:

Junk, after paying $200 for the device i expect a better app. I tried taking a video and got two mins of the first frame. There are no other apps which work for this camera. To bad I'll return the camera solely because the app is so bad.

U70%
by U####:

The app needs some tweaking.. side by side mode is currently useless, you need to be able to.. a) drag the normal camera image to align the two, b) zoom the normal camera image to get similar size to the thermal image, c) snapshot should save full frames from each camera simultaneous not the word half and half it does currently, d) overlay the 2 full screen camera images (normal and thermal) over each other. All the settings above should also be saved as a profile for this device so I get the same settings next time. I'm not sure why the current side by side is so poor as the above tweaks would improve it immensely

C70%
by C####:

First, the app is awful. But worse, I only used the camera a handful of times, and now it is not recognized on any of the phones I try it with. A truly regrettable purchase.

U70%
by U####:

I just downgraded my rating. Was working perfectly on my Galaxy S8+, now it's not recognized. I tried it on my kids Android phones and my wife's Galaxy tablet and it still works so it's not the camera, it has something to do with the app.

E70%
by E####:

Maybe its the app, maybe the camera but either say I wasted my money on this garbage the app is so taxing on my patience I just skip it. Thanks for ripping me off 200.

Alls good but needs a massive update. Would love to assign my own colors to temperatures. Does drain a lot of battery from galaxy s7 ,50% in 30 minutes, dead in an hour.

Y70%

Paid for the hardware and they didn't support the software. I Saved the video but I can't play the video, only sound and black screen. According to seek, video record not working on usb typeC phone and no fix! Type C been around for years but no fix. Guess they won't fix it and force user to buy type C seek hardware when they launch it. *Please seek , please fix video recording.

U70%
by U####:

Great camera and app. One thing I need it to do is be able to invert or rotate the camera angle so when hold your camera upside down or sideways I can still view the picture right side up

U70%
by U####:

Junk. The tech support for the camera was brutal. They claim that no one has ever asked if the camera would work with a micro usb to usb 3 adaptor. They also offered no solutions. I will never again buy a device that is restricted to the type of connector my phone has since they change every phone upgrade.

M70%
by M####:

What the HELL did you do; it wasn't broke until you "fixed it'.! The "new" features screwed up EVERYTHING. HOW ABOUT TESTING BEFORE ACTIONS.!!!!!!!

Seek XR on Samsung Galaxy S5 and Tab S2. Works great for me! I've just found all the heat leaks in my home, fantastic...

C70%
by C####:

The record only records 10 seconds then becomes distorted. Very annoying as it makes videos longer than 10 seconds impossible to film, worked before all the upgrades, now its not useful.

A fabulous tool! Great to have on hand when working around the house. Very helpful with AC work, checking insulation, electrical connections and looking for vermin.

U70%
by U####:

I have had this for a while and it worked great but I just tried to use it and it is just a big blur of color pallets it used to be defined when u would point it at ppl and now it's just a hot blob.

Y70%
by Y####:

Upgrade does not work. How can I get the previous version? New version turned my Seek Thermal attainment to junk. Old version worked great.

S70%
by S####:

Poor quality. No rotation in the app (or the camera itself) and no setting for a min max, auto span and level is annoying and also very inaccurate comparing to spot thermometer. Don't buy it.

U70%
by U####:

Overall nice app for the seek thermals. I like the different viewing modes. Only bug is when recording video it only shows the first frame for the whole clip but the audio plays fine. Computer also doesn't like these files. Tried with an orginal Thermal and an FF on HTC 10

U70%
by U####:

All USB-OTG checked, everything is up to date and galaxy s8 cant detect it, probably because of the USB-C adapter that came with s8. Seems like they really don't want to bother with non apple products. Really want to love this product, but i cant defend the egregious lack of portability.

U70%
by U####:

Version 2.1.1 appears to be broken on the old Seek Thermal imager, it's all image looks all blotchy, it's terrible! Had to revert back to 2.0.3 1.9.x: I've turned off geo tagging and location watermark, yet GPS is kept running all the time, also issue with on screen high/low rotation not following GUI, can the high/low also be kept within the view port? Sometimes the icons get trunkcanted. 16:9 also save the picture with the wrong aspect ration, saves as 4:3

U70%
by U####:

Didnt seem to work, options in the option section mostly came back with blank screens. I do not recommend this camera.
