About Biomass moisture calculator
This App is intented for those buying and selling biomass for energy who want to assess the effect of moisture content on prices and quantities.
Bioenergy is an App for the conversion on quantities and prices according to the variations on weight when moisture content changes. In addition, it is also possible to assess prices and quantities based on energy units, which in this App are, by now, MWh.
Furthermore, by modifying the thermal efficiency of the boiler or the biomass conversion system, it is possible to also assess the selling price after boiler (useful for energy service companies).
The default calorific value used for the assessments in energy units is 3400 kWh/t at 30% moisture content (i.e. wet basis). In "options" it is possible to modify such calorific value (always refered to 30% moisture content).
Notation t 30%MC, t 40%MC, etc., is the one used to indicate tones at different levels of moisture content, that is, t 30%MC means "tone at 30% moisture content", t 45%MC means "tone at 45% moisture content", and so on.
