Surprised that it supports backlight of keyboard too(3keys:back;home;menu) but 2problems: 1-Time out option should have 1 & 0/5 & 2 minutes instead of only 5min!! ; 2-it has to add one important mode named that "keep only keyboard on".. this is why I near to uninstall app!!! :(

This has everything you could need, other than setting it for specific apps. Love the fact it needs zero additional permissions. The problem is it kept my phone active in apps for hours but it has started randomly not working and going to sleep. I have to go back to the app and tell it to disable then re-enable and it works for about 30 minutes then randomly starts sleeping again. The app is still active and notification states it is on but it will still go to sleep. If dev wants I can email more details.

I wish had an option setting to turn screen off after a programmable length of time. I had my Nexus plugged in to a pocket juice to recharge. Turned screen off when I put it in drawer at work. Next break time, screen was on and both batteries were discharged.

Im back again after several more weeks-and just saying this Backlight Manager has worked flawlessly with my devices. I read a few other ratings, seems some haven't used custom settings, e.g.-unlimited time length . Orig comment- Works perfect I've been using this for a month on Samsung Galaxy S6 & Tab 2. . I set the length of time, or set it for all the time. It's been switched on for nearly 10 days, and when I turn phone off at nite, and back on in morning the display remains on. I can set the display brightness any time . Can set it to auto shut off when batt gets down to my chosen level. ALSO-Ive found it does not use any more batt than my previous use. It takes the interuptions/distractions away, and I can leave it for a few moments and it's unchanged on my return! Thank You Even More now

This works fantastic for the Pantech Marauder when slide out light won't stay on. Kept me from having to root . Wished it had an "always on" option instead of 60 minute time out

Maybe add blue light screen dimmer for night time use.. That would be good, also longer / custom times for auto off.. Nice app though..thanks

I would like to see screen on but dim to save battery and prevent screen lock. I would like to see turning the app off from notification menu (similar to Waze). Thanks

8/03/2017- Had this app on my old hTC One (Android 4) and hTC One M8 (Android 6 Marshmallow) devices and worked like a charm! Installed it on my new Kyocera DuraForce Pro running Android 6 (Marshmallow) hoping for the same performance, but found issues with it usually not recognizing when the charger is connected and disconnected. It often wouldn't enable and disable automatically without me having to open the app settings. It does load and run in the background the way it should, just doesn't usually turn the screen on/off when it's supposed to. This new device does have a built-in 'Dream' app, a possible conflict? However, even if I don't turn that app on it makes no difference. If I figure out a work-around I'll update this feedback. 9/01/13- Upgraded from an hTC My Touch 4G Slide to the new hTC One. I soon discovered that one thing which either hTC or Android got rid of was the ability to have the screen stay on dimly while charging. This application solves that 'minor' (minor to some, perhaps) annoyance beautifully! I highly recommend this app to anyone, like myself, who gets spoiled by the little things and hates to see them fall by the wayside :-)

This app is *Brilliant* as it works if I set it for an hour, 5 mins, or enable it to stay on, or start on boot-up when I switch the phone.

I'm love the ability to get to settings via the widget as well as turning the app on and off. I've been using an app with similar functionality for quite a while. It had the option of locking the Backlight on for specific apps. This meant that I rarely had to manually turn the app on or off. Unfortunately the feature was broken by Lollipop and the dev hasn't responded to my attempts to reach out. Adding such a feature to your app would be phenomenal (and I'd be willing to pay for it)! Keep up the great work

Now it's working like as before since i disabled your added features. No more widget for me, no more experiments just staying with simple that works. Great!

Updates work nicely. Thank you!!!! Very simple. Works on my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Would like more flexibility in the Notification icon. Once it has that, I'll boost to 5 stars.

Thank you so much for paying attention to user comments and updating the app to fix the small annoyances. The latest version works very well. I would like to see the "timeout" setting simply allow the light to go off after that amount of time, but stay running so that the next time the display became active, the app continued to keep the backlight on again, until the timeout expired again. One bug I noticed... If you restart the device while it is plugged in, the app does not detect the power without replug

Thanks for the reply, hope the next update will fix the autostart issue.

After that last update, I uninstalled, then reinstalled. It now knows when it is docked, and when it is not. It loads on startup, but crashes before I can get to my home screen. If I start it manually from my home screen it works until I power off. I've upped my rating one star. I'll give it 5 if it stays up after booting. HTC One M8.

When I need to keep the screen on, all I have to do is plug it in. Backlight Manager starts at power up and is configured to watch for plug events.

Just stays on no matter what configuration I use, not that I have many options before me. But it does the job just fine.
