About Axel (XML Editor / Viewer)
Axel is an Open Source XML editor and XML viewer, simple, lightweight and ad-free.
It can open, create, edit and save XML files, as well as HTML. It alse validates every input and adds syntax coloration.
Use a long press on any node to bring the context menu. Also default quick action are enabled : simple tap to edit, double tap to add a children.
Axel can read valid XML documents, HTML documents (valid or not), and some compressed formats (APK compressed XML, PList).

Seems to be the only editor that qualifies as xml editor. All others seem to be text editors with some syntax highlighting.

I was trying to edit retroarch to get it showing up in the game section. I added the intent and saved the file. I inserted the file back into the apk and signed it with zip signer. I went to install it on my shield TV and got a parsing error. I looked at the XML again and the the text format had been changed completely when I saved it. Ugh!

I wonder if it is possible to convert XMLs back to binary so that they could be used in an apk again? I don't have access to a PC right now, and it would be awesome if I could just modify apk files on the go.

I received the error "unable to read document, unknown format" for a valid xml document. It erred on "&" which is the correct way to encode an ampersand.

Nice app. It's pretty awesome. They only thing is I'm getting "invalid syntax" in an error. I'm trying to edit an Android manifest file, so I add an element, I name it data, I go to put the information in "android:mineType=" when I added a custom attribute. Could you please update so that manifest files for Android can be edited, please and thank you, in advance.
