According to the Nigerian Electoral Act 2010 as Amended, "The Commission shall compile, maintain, and update on a continuous basis, a National Register of Voters, in this Act referred to as the “Register of Voters” which shall include the names of all persons entitled to vote in any Federal, State or Local Government or Area Council elections."
It is the civic right of every Nigerian 18 years and above to vote. In order to vote in Nigeria, a Nigerian citizen must be duly registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission. Tens of millions of Nigerians are currently on the national voters register, however many millions more are not yet registered.
