GO Backup & Restore Pro

This used to be one of my favorite apps. I loved it so much that I decided to pay for the pro version, which worked great at first. I recently upgraded my phone from a Galaxy S2 to an S5 and none of recent backups were found on the SD card. I tried to restore from the cloud, which is the main reason I paid for pro, and it would only restore the apks but no sms, mms, etc. I try to make a new backup to the external SD and, as others have said, the path name given is wrong so I can't backup to the card.

Overall great backup software. Before restoring SMS from previous backup, you need to go to your phone settings and change the default SMS application to "Go Backup", then do the restore, then go to settings again to switch to "Go SMS" as default application. I had this issue 2 years ago. They still didn't fix it. Why do I need to switch back and forth??? It's a minor issue, took me couple of days to figure out, but otherwise it's a great app, very easy to navigate, user friendly. Recommend! Nexus 5

Used to be great. Almost all recent reviews are one star. Since Launcher Z version of Go Launcher, this app is no longer able to back up Launcher PREFERENCES! Backup of Launcher PREFERENCES Is a most important feature & made Go Launcher Portable too!! It is needed to backup the Home Screens / backup feature called backing up "PREFERENCES." My Need to transfer PREFERENCES from phone to phone. was the main reason I got Go Launcher in the first place. Still Can NOT get Go Backup to backup the "Go Launcher EX Preferences" FIX & get 5*s.

i reviewed this app as 5 stars with my previous galaxy phones, it was great. straight forward and amazing. but now after i got my LG G3 it gives me backup failed all the time ... i even wrote to support email with no response for over a month... Now i updated to lollipop 5.0 and still the same. Fix it please!

Just bought the pro version but unable to make use of it. Whenever trying to back up any app it keeps saying back failed, error occurred? Any solution? I need to back up all my apps and data immediately. Yes my phones is rooted. Thanks from i9300. Still no reply from your end. This is great.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. It pretended to work, to back up info from my old phone, yet it WILL NOT load to my new device. Don't get conned into paying to in app 4.99. It doesn't work and is a rip off. I want my money back and the time I wasted with this piece of Crap.

I purchased App last Oct. And Google play does not recognize I purchased because I bought through my phone service. Can't get upgrade on new phone. I emailed developer and mail returned due to using email blocker. So will I repurchase?? Not sure due to lack of support but I do like the app.

Over and over again I have asked for a fix to the inability to backup with specific instructions on how to do it. Auto responder replied. I have given all the info they need. In 2012 I gave them 5 stars. They now get 1. I have used the app for many years. I don't think they care anymore.

Program sucks refuses my sdcard and fails to backup anything... setiously this program isnt worth a penny I am contacting google and placing a complaint as well as looking for a way to deal with false programs and developers. This program is total BULLSHIT

Bought this app to predominanly deal with sms and mms. Updated from lp to mm but can't restore the only thing I cared about backing up. Reached out for support and other than automated message I got crickets....... Devs, if you going to abandon a paid app then at least have the decency of removing it from the store.

Works occasionally, but not well. Can't update, can't transfer backups from SD card. Change phones? Well too bad, won't let you backup to an SD card!!! I've emailed them for the past year and never had one response. Well after 1 year and two new phones it doesn't work at all. Way to ruin an app. Doesn't work on a Samsung s7 or edge.

I need something that will back up my apps with their data and settings, and it looks like the premium or ultimate (both names are used) would do it. ..IF I could find it! Clicking the upgrade button does nothing, and a search on Google Play doesn't find it. What the heck? ?

I don't think this app work for samsung galaxy s5. I tried to do a cloud and a external sdcard backup both failed… I contacted developers waiting for a response… will give more stars if they can fix!!

1- please fix that we can backup/restore for kitkat 4.4.2 that we don't get sd write/read damage because other backups programs such titanium backup or mybackup app are fine for kitkat. 2- please do that the app backup contacts that it also backup the default number for all contacts like mybackup app, thanks. Fix that and i promising i give 5 stars.

Your business ethic bites. Why are you still selling this app if it doesnt work? You're not providing customer service/technical support, yet you continue to take money from people. Backup fails every time. Read your reviews. Your product doesn't work. REFUND. PLEASE. IMMEDIATELY.

Figured I would give this a shot. Free version doesn't work. Could probably email dev and eventually get it to work but there are others out there that do work. Not worth the time. Rooted note 4 "us cellular"

It is now independant App I back up all my contact through this App I changed phone to Sony experia m4 but in this phone Go back up couldn't find and restore contact from sd card where it was saved in previous phone through this thus I lost all my contact. NOT TRUST WORTHY.

...all back ups fail now. Samsung S4 4.4.2. Have emailed asking for help at least twice over the past couple of months and get no reply. Really frustrated that I spent money on this app... please help!

This app cannot read my SD card. This has happened on more then one device. Do not use this app to back up, you'll lose everything. Very disappointed!

Working perfectly while using internal storage for backup. External sd card not found. Device running on 4.4 KitKat (MIUI). device is rooted and ext sd card has propper rw permissions. But this app won't recognise it .Fix it and 5 stars will be added

I did several backups, local and cloud. I relied on this service and when I switched devices (from Note 2 to Note 4 both unroot) there's no data anywhere. Everything that was backed up through this app is gone and now it doesn't backup at all (not that I'm relying on this again. The other apps have been good and that's why I trusted this app. I'd like a refund.

Sorry, really loved this app. It had just ironed out the kinks and become usable and then it's become premium purchase only. Though I understand business is business there are free apps that do the same just as well. Such a shame.

I can't get anything to restore on my new Marshmallow phone. I own the pro version of this app, and need to transition my texts and call logs, among other settings (wallpaper and ringtones would be nice).

Your app doesn't even read the fact that I have backups on my sd card on a Samsung Galaxy S4... also, when you said you've fixed the whole sms backup problem, not it says there are "no sms or don't have permisison" which it has never done before. Your app is dying, and I paid for it for no reason a can't even use it.. fix it asap.

I like the ability to backup selected item categories but you prompt me to buy premium to unlock features but there isnt any on store. So i think im being conned so im gonna look for something else.

Contacts after you have logged into Google + and even your pics for contacts are saved and sign into Google browser for all favorites are saved . No more saving web pages when rebooting cell phone or pc,tablet or laptop....Google browser a must and updates will not effect anything...FORGET WINDOWS EXPLORER. IT IS MAIN REASON FOR VIRUSES..

This app is very hit and miss in regards if it will actually restore your backup... Sometimes itll work.. Sometimes it wont... And if you're not rooted you're in for a bad time.

Worked well on my s4 but have the note 4 and can't use it. All my backups are gone when i restarted my s4 too. What the? And i had the pro version too

I've emailed the developer and never recieved a response. I cannot purchase the premium version, clicking the "purchase through Google play" just closes itself. Do I have to beg to give you money?

Every since the last update my back ups always say failed. Retry and it never works please fix

U need the full version which requires you to pay or get it free through this app but when I click on it ten minutes later it is still loading and then suddenly it appears that an error occurred. Isn't this the best app I have downloaded? EVERYBODY DOWNLOAD THIS APP NOW IT IS SO "AMAZING"

Pretty freaking disappointed with this app. Used to work like a charm in the free mode, so I shelled out for the full version. The full version worked even better for the longest time, but then they added support for other locations to save you data to (used to be internal memory, SD Card, of Dropbox only.) Once that update pushed out, it basically bricked the entire app. Now all backups are deleting themselves (when you finally manage to get the data to backup, which has become a very daunting task). I understand there's a point where every developer feels they need to move on to bigger and better things, so they cut the current projects free. But....unlike all GOOD developers, these guys decided to break their app, THEN cut it loose, when it used to be the perfect backup app. I once was highly impressed with this app, and now it's just steaming pile of wasted money. Thanks a lot ya rotten bunch of scam artists. If you're going to kill your app, the least you could do is refund those who paid for an app that YOU broke, then decided not to fix!

Before i used to backup my contact they were backed up perfectly but it jst merges to different contacts together and have to keep editing it back. This app is worst. Strongly recommended to do not download it

It worked until I paid for premium edition. Now, it doesn't work for important stuff.

Liked the app because it also includes a cloud version but both don't seem to work unless I go through files and folders which I hardly find user friendly. Basically doesn't work for me. Would have given an even lower rating but I believe the app has potential. Replying ASAP did not happen. Still waiting for a reply... Uninstalling till I get a reply or till problems fixed.

I bought this and it no longer works. Keeps giving constant errors and it's unable to backup/restore any app data even though my device (running 4.4.4) is rooted and the application has the proper permissions. I've emailed the support several times but as usual, they ignored it.

I downloaded on my old Ginger Bread Galaxy S2 this morning and the backup to the cloud worked like a charm in the free version. Then I upgraded my S2 to latest Lolipop build and after installing GoBack, I see that cloud backup/restore features are locked in the free version. Ok, I will pay for that, but it ain't working. All options in the app take me to the Free vs Ultimate comparison chart, but everytime I click the "Upgrade" button to pay via the Google Play Store, nothing happens. It just ain't working!! Terrible!!
