SCUT gPen（gPen）is a handwriting input method released by SCUT-HCII Laboratory of South China University of Technology. gPen supports both GB2312-80 and Big5 Chinese character sets, English letters, numbers and punctuations,and more than 100 kinds of handwriting symbols. gPen also implements the functions of phrase association, English keyboard, and PinYin IME.

If only the english keyboard has predictive text, or swype like behaviour, this app will be perfect. For some reason, it always crash when I want to change from this keyboard to anything else.

It freezes from time-to-time, and needed to reset to default Samsung keyboard before it would work again! Also, does anyone know if this version will run on Lollipop 5.0 on a S5? I am afraid to upgrade the OS and having this not work with 5.0

I think it is the best Chinese handwriting IME. Very easy to use, intuitive UI, and very accurate. There are 3 modes: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and both. I like "both" mode where both Simplified and Traditional Chinese are recognized. Fast, too. Thank you SCUT for making this a free app.
