About Switchr - App Switcher

Introduction
"Switchr is a well designed and well polished app with a simple, yet practical function that allows users to access their running apps quickly and conveniently." - XDA Developers

To use Switchr, just swipe in from the edge, make your selection and let go! Switchr has three different styles (Flow, Slide, and Arc), each with it's own unique way of displaying your chosen recent/running/favorite apps. With live switching, you can switch between apps in real time as you swipe! Switchr can even replace your default search action, allowing you to switch between apps using the search key or by swiping up from the navigation bar. You can also pin your favorite apps and rearrange the order to your liking.

Fantastic when it works, but it keeps disappearing. I swipe but it's not there. I think Android is closing it when the memory runs low. (Yes I have notifications enabled.) Omni Swipe (Holaverse) does not have that problem (it stays alive) and it has more features, but Switcher has a nicer (haptic) interface and is lighter.

Free version is buggy, app doesn't see when you close app, it just sits there..its just history of running apps. Grid display is crashing, free version absolutely pointless

I miss this app so much on android 5. I found it way more efficient than having to use the default recent app switcher. I wish there was a way to make it work. I don't know if it is possible, but maybe someone will make an xposed module to fix this issue!

It's a fantastic app, however, it's been hamstrung by Lollipop update. Rather unfortunately actually. The review is based on the app itself, not the unfortunate removal from Lollipop. Just be aware of that. Hoping for an alternative fix for this app, but I doubt that will be the case. Definitely not the developers fault. It can't detect recent running app, but if you pin individual apps to your switchr, it'll still show those.

Home Button is actually not working properly in my samsung phone. I was struggled many times when trying to switch between recent apps. I find this app after installed this it is very easy for me to use my phone This app is really helpful for me Thanks mohammed :)

Throughout my journeys through cellphone land, I notice many efforts to provide quick access to supporting material. This app provides everything useful. I am using v.4.0 Pro on a SGS4, I have lollipop, the app has NEVER crashed, I am in control of the way to engage it's actions (by following directions), and I review the app information frequently. The developer is bound by changing set rules but he does a good job listening to its users. Contact him as he requests for help. This is a 5-star app.

Perfect for my phablet, which by holding down the Home key, would automatically take me to the Google app instead of an expected app switcher. The only downside is that of the grid selection...all other 3 types of switching GUIs work fine. Grid immediately halts the apps and shuts it down. Even after restarting the phone, it would not work. Reinstalling it is the way to go. The support section's radio buttons don't seem to do anything beyond just that: selecting the radio buttons.

Became very unstable lately, plz make it stable in the next update.... 1ly prblm is it force closes if i enable grid option.... Wish u will make it more stable in the next update. . . Another issue, its force closing after opening camera, enabled it in AUTO START MANAGER, but that isn't helping either, using a Asus Zenfone 2 Laser.

While Android Marshmallow does have the feature supposedly missing from Lollipop, *coughotherappscandoitcough* the developers decided it wasn't worth the effort to make their app better. And now it doesn't work at all. No aspect of this program is functional. Consider using this if your phone runs Kit Kat or older.

Im really sad that it no longer works after I updated my note 3. Definitely one of the best apps I used! 5 stars..please add in the support for new android update...dont knoe how to get used to the old version of switching between apps :(( :((

Fantastic app!! seriously. small app which fulfils big purpose!! a must use app. u will feel quite comfortable nd quick to switch between all the apps. i am addicted to it. i cant let it stop for a single second. because i am a multi tasking person. and for those who uses phablet they shud try fr sure!!

It was the best. Loli poop fucked it. start to use this app setting it to "slide" not "flow" or "arc". Set to "side bar". Set the "trigger" to the middle of the right side of the display. If you Start to use this app with these settings then you will love it. Starting with other settings you might hate it. With these settings then it works just like windows 8 only better somehow - Perfection. Later you can play with other settings once you get the hang of it.

This is the most amazing task switcher app I have witnessed. Does absolutely everything you want, flawlessly. Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore (recent and running apps are not registered) I truly hope this will get updated soon.

Y70%
by Y####:

I love this app and have had it on my phone and tablet for quite some time. It's a pity that lollipop doesn't allow detection of recent apps. I hope the developer can find some way around it - I'm keeping this app installed hoping for an update.

Best app to quickly multitask. Only downside is lollipop is not supported. I have been looking for an alternative and found nothing thus far. To the developer I would pay for a lollipop re release the workaround would require effort and I would pay for that effort. Update found a replacement lazy swipe... it's also free

B70%

As rightly said by some other reviewer. .. u dont realize till its gone... its been 3 months that I haven't had switcher but whenever I want to switch over to any otherapp... switcher comes to my mind... and finally I got it installed. ... great work...

Have over 15 apps open in the background but this application fails to see and show them upon request, might as well just use the built in OPTIONS touch button instead of this application. At least OPTIONS will show what's open and running.. Just annoying that it's not as smooth and simple as iPhone's are..

Y70%

Like many, this app was a daily driver and integral in my work flow. I propose we set up a crowdfund for the development of this app for lollipop. I've messaged the developer but have not heard back. What do you think?

G70%
by G####:

Very disappointed to see this app not working on lollipop. It's now become a glorified shortcut to a personalized app drawer. The new grid option was fantastic while it worked. The Back Button Gesture Launcher app still has a 'last app' option working on lollipop. Maybe hope for us here?

I70%
by I####:

After installing and going thru the tutorial, I tried the app out with the "flow" setting. I could get the apps to show but was unable to access them. They disappear as soon as I let off the screen. So I tried another setting and chose grid. Right after, the app continues to force close. Not worth the headache.

Y70%
by Y####:

Amazing app. Something I've wanted all along, I just didn't know I wanted till now. I Had great efficiency and the ease of use and powerfulness with the gestures. Also the settings are extermely customizable and well layed out. Makes me wonder why this isn't the default stock app switcher for Android. Seems to work just fine on my lollipop note3.

X70%

Ok i know... You written that lollopion don't let you to access to recent apps but.... Why you let us to download this app if we running android 5? Block DL from playstore setting for all android version better than android 4.4....

Y70%
by Y####:

Well, sorry but when I purchased the application it was nowere stated that it's developer would not support it in a future version of Android. Innovative and popular apps like these shouldn't not locked in a closet.

I'm on a Galaxy S3, and the stock "hold home key" app switch is terrible. This is a must have app that I could not function without. I've been using this for at least 6 months, and this surprisingly free app deserves my $2 for the pro key.

H70%

Used to use this quite a bit. Now it's useless. I'm on an LG G3 running lollipop on AT&T. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, changed setting, etc... And now I've given up. Moving on to another app.

A70%

Was a must have app due to speed you can switch to a different app. Especially for samsung devices with the awfull press and hold the iphone imitator button for list of running apps. Now (sob...) usless on new and unimproved lollipop. Thanks for trying developer, it was fun while it lasted.

Z70%
by Z####:

This app is terrible! Honestly I rather stick with any other app then this one. This app is not only bad but you have to have pro version just to do the simplest things that stock apps do then their pro version does. I recommend nobody grt this app.

Y70%
by Y####:

Everything is perfect with this app except I can't seem to hide the phone app. I have blacklisted it in the settings but it still shows up. I'll give 5 stars if someone can help me out. After a few reboots it looks like the black listing is working now. 5 stars!

I believe it's possible now to give app usage permissions in Lollipop. The app 'Last App Switcher' uses this and it is able to do the exact same thing as Switchr, but it's just not as good. I love Switchr, I hope the developer can fix the app.

Y70%
by Y####:

It gives you quick access to apps you really want and that's all I wanted. I constantly go back and forth with my reading app and my dictionary and all it takes is one swipe on the side. 1 second DONE! Thank you very much

J70%

Seriously this app just gets better and better with each update, with very quick updates (maybe too fast?) improving performance functionality and bug fixes. Works very well with Nexus 5 and 7 2013 model!

W70%
by W####:

Until lollipop. Lollipop shuts down apps so there's nothing to switch to. I really hope this gets fixed, somehow. I will miss it until then. But if you are running jellybean or kit kat, this is a must have. I REALLY miss this app.

I am pretty sharp, but I can't get apk to work on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro (others are saying their app install is working on the same device). I am leary that the comments state the developer stopped supporting this app. Since there are too many conflicting comments, it is best not to install this. Developer? If you are working on this app, and actively supporting the app, please make a comment in your GPS description. Those that know me, understand I have little patience for unsupported GPS apps, if you don't support the app, GET IT OFF of the GPS so people don't try installing and then the app can potentially mess up their device performance.

Can be killed easily by task killers and low memory. This app does not show up under task managers in order to exclude it from being killed which is odd. Can't use hard buttons which is stupid. Give us the option don't choose for us. Seems to mess with the lock screen. Have to sleep then wake device a couple times to get lock screen to respond to touch. Sometimes takes up to 5 seconds to open app. How do I close apps using this? Seems like it should be in beta. I will stick with Task Switcher. UPDATE. Was about to give your app another try with a different phone a year later but saw your reply. You sound extremely immature. Instead of taking constructive criticism you rant and rave like a little kid. Throw it against a wall? Really? At the time I had an SGS4 which was top phone when I originally rated your app and if it didn't work with a top of the line phone then there is no way it was a ram problem. You really need to take some courses in customer service.

T70%

Don't buy this app, the developer never keep his promise to update the app after lollipop. He didn't even have the courtesy to answer emails. Google should banned the developer.

T70%

This app was one of the best app switchers. A developer that got it right. Sadly until they find a workaround for Lollipop users it isn't usable. I trust they will as it gets better and better with every update.

Everyone knows how it works and definetly we all knew that every Android users needs this but to the developer I just want to ask some request can you update the function key into lollipop

Doesn't seem to work; shame as I like the concept. Only lists the current app when trying to switch.
