עיריית באר-שבע

באר-שבע היא אחת מהערים העתיקות בארץ ישראל. ייחודה בהיותה נקודת היישוב הדרומית ביותר בארץ הנושבת, מדרום לה החקלאות אינה אפשרית אלא בשנים גשומות. ההתיישבות תלויה במים זמינים וקבועים לאורך כל השנה ובאפיק נחל באר-שבע אפשר לחפור בארות בעומק רדוד ולקבל מים אלו תמיד.

המתיישבים הראשונים בני תרבות באר-שבע הכנלכוליתית חיו כאן לפני כ- 6000 שנה וסחרו עם אפריקה בדרום , חרן (טורקיה) בצפון, מסופוטמיה (עירק) במזרח ומצרים במערב. לפני כ-4000 שנה הגיע אברהם אבינו בדרכו מאור כשדים (בעירק) וחרן (בטורקיה) לארץ ישראל והתיישב בבאר-שבע. חפר בארות ונטע אשל. בסיום קרבות ההתבססות במקום, כרת ברית עם אבימלך מלך גרר ונשבע על השלום. Beersheba is one of the oldest cities in Israel. The uniqueness as a community southernmost inhabited land, south of Agriculture is possible only in rainy years. Settlement depends on available water and constant throughout the year and streambed Beersheba wells could be dug shallow depth and get this water always.

The first settlers civilized Beersheba Hcnlcolitit lived here 6,000 years ago and traded with South Africa, Harran (Turkey) in northern Mesopotamia (Iraq) East and Egypt in the west. About 4000 years ago on the way Abraham came from Ur (Iraq) and Harran (Turkey) to Israel and settled in Beersheba. Wells dug and planted a tamarisk. After fighting in reliance instead, made a covenant with Abimelech and swear peace.
