עין יהב הוא הראשון והגדול במושבי הערבה. שייך למועצה אזורית הערבה התיכונה.בשנת 1952הגיעו עשרות גדנ"עים לעין יהב, שהיה עד אז נקודת מצפה חקלאית של השח"ל(שירות חלוצי לישראל). הגדנ"עים הקימו בה את החווה השנייה של הגדנ"ע בערבה, שלאחר כשנה פורקה.
באותן אדמות הוקם היישוב בשנת 1959כהיאחזות נח"ל, שאוזרחה בשנת 1962והפכה למושבוץ (שילוב של מושב וקיבוץ). בהמשך הפך למושב שיתופיו כיום הוא מושב עובדים.
רוב חברי המושב עוסקים בחקלאות, בעיקר בגידול פלפל,עגבניות מסוגים שונים, מילונים,חצילים, כרמים, ומטע תמרים. .בשטח היישוב התקיימה בעבר מצודה רומאית שהייתה לצומת דרכים מרכזית בשליטת הרומאים בערבה.
