סינמטק שדרות - בית לתרבות הקולנוע
סינמטק שדרות נוסד בדצמבר 1999. בחזון הקמתו עמד פרופ' חיים בראשית, מי שעמד בראש ביה"ס לתקשורת קולנוע במכללה האקדמית ספיר בשיתוף עם ראש עיריית שדרות, עו"ד אלי מויאל.

סינמטק שדרות הינו המוסד החינוכי-תרבותי לקולנוע הראשון בדרום. סינמטק שדרות הוקם במטרה לעלות לסדר היום הציבורי את חיי התרבות של אוכלוסיית הדרום ובמטרה לצמצם הפער שבין המרכז לפריפריה.

בהגדרתו, סינמטק הינו מוסד המחנך לאהבת הקולנוע. סינמטק שדרות מאפשר לכל דורש באשר הוא ליהנות מפעילויות הסינמטק, ללא קשר למצבו הכלכלי-חברתי. אחת ממטרותיו העיקריות של הסינמטק היא קידום הקולנוע הישראלי על כל גווניו: פסטיבלים, ימי עיון, הקרנות מיוחדות, מפגשי יוצרים, אירועי תרבות ומוסיקה, השתלמויות וסדנאות.
יחודו של הסינמטק בכך שהוא חושף בפני קהל צופיו כל יצירה ישראלית/זרה, דוקומנטארית/עלילתית, ניסיונית/סטודנטיאלית, בליווי מיטב היוצרים אשר מעלים על סדר היום החברתי את השיח הציבורי בשפה הקולנועית.

Sderot Cinematheque was founded in December 1999. The founding vision was Prof. Chaim Genesis, who headed the Film School of Communication at Sapir College in collaboration with Sderot Mayor Eli Moyal attorney.

Sderot Cinematheque is a cultural-educational institution first film South. Sderot Cinematheque was established to increase public agenda in the cultural life of the population in the south and in order to reduce the gap between the center and the periphery.

By definition, cinema is an institution educator love of cinema. Sderot Cinematheque allows all comers everywhere to enjoy the Cinematheque, regardless of socio-economic condition. One of its main goals is to promote the Cinematheque of Israeli cinema in all its diversity: festivals, seminars, special screenings, meetings of artists, cultural and musical events, seminars and workshops.
The uniqueness of the Cinematheque in that it reveals to his audience of Israeli creations foreign / documentary / narrative, experimental / student, accompanied by the finest artists who bring the social agenda of public discourse in the film.
Cinematheque active seven days a week, three to six screenings every day.
