سورة الكهف مكيّة، وهي السورة 18 في ترتيب المصحف، وتأتي بعد سورة الإسراء، ويأتي بعدها سورة مريم. وعدد آياتها 110، وعدد كلماتها 1578 كلمة، وهذا يعني أن تكون نسبة عدد كلماتها إلى عدد كلمات القرآن الكريم تقارب 1/49.

فضلها:أورد الحافظ ابن كثير عدة أحاديث في فضل سورة الكهف (سورة أصحاب الكهف)، منها ما أخرجه مسلم وأبو داود والنسائي والترمذي :"من حفظ عشر آيات من أول سورة الكهف عصم من الدّجال". وأورد عن طريق الإمام أحمد :"من قرأ العشر الأواخر من سورة الكهف عصم من فتنة الدّجال" ورواه مسلم أيضاً. وما أخرجه النسائي في سننه :"من قرأ العشر الأواخر من سورة الكهف فإنه عصمة له من الدجال". وقد وردت أحاديث في استحباب قراءة سورة الكهف يوم الجمعة وأن ذلك يكفر الذنوب

نقول: ما نراه في قصة أهل الكهف أن نقتصر فيها على ما ورد في القرآن الكريم، وما يمكن أن يستفاد من دلالات الآيات الكريمة. ويجدر بنا أن نتذكر دائماً أن الله تعالى نهانا عن أن نأخذ عن أهل الكتاب أو غيرهم شيئاً من أخبار أصحاب أهل الكهف:"…ولا تستفت فيهم منهم أحداً "(8) . مما يدل على أنه لا مستند لأحد من الإخباريين فيما يخبر من قصة أهل الكهف، وقد يدل هذا على أن القصة مُغرقة في القدم، بل أقدم بكثير مما ذكرهُ أكثر أهل التفسير. جاء في كتاب قصص القرآن :"رجّح ابن كثير أن قصص أهل الكهف كان قبل مجيء النصرانية لا بعدها، كما رواه كثير من المفسرين متبعين ما أثر عن العرب، والدليل على ذلك أنّ أحبار اليهود كانوا يحفظون أخبارهم ويعنون بها"

هو مشاري بن راشد بن غريب بن محمد بن راشد العفاسي، من مواليد دولة الكويت ليوم الأحد 11 رمضان 1396 هـ الموافق 5 سبتمبر 1976م، هو قاريء للقراّن الكريم و منشد، يتمتع بصوت عذب وروعة الأداء، له العديد من الإصدارات التي انتشرت في الوطن العربي والإسلامي والعالم. تخصص القراءات العشر والتفسير. ولقد تتلمذ الشيخ على أيدي كبار علماء ومقرئي علماء المدينة النبوية في كلية القراءات، وقد أجيز القارئ في قراءة عاصم بروايتيه حفص وشعبة من طريق الشاطبية وسافر القارئ مشاري إلى مصر للحصول على إجازات من كبار مقرئي العالم الإسلامي الذين كان لهم باعاً في القرآن وعلومه.
