It's cool but when you review lessons they are always presented to you with sentences in the exact same order. So you basically just memorize the order rather then having say flash cards shuffled around like it should be. But otherwise the audio sounds good and it's quite fun

I tried Duolingo first and loved the style of lessons but hated wasting my time learning nonsense sentences ("The fish bites the cup.") This app teaches in the same style as Duolingo but is much better. It teaches actual phrases that I would need to carry on a real conversation, has related topics grouped logically, but also lets me skip to topics that matter most to me. Excellent! Only complaint is that sometimes the speech recognition can become frustrating, but that's probably my fault.

Really like the app, so far I have learned Russian and now I'm learning Vietnamese. It is free as advertised. You can pay for more lessons per day but I find the daily lessons are enough along with the basic.

It's good but they speak too fast. I have a vietnamese friend who finds it too fast and he speaks vietnamese at home every day. I'll keep going with it and will pay if its worth it

Like most of this type of app, it teaches *north* Vietnamese and doesn't tell you that in the description. So if your friends, family, or coworkers are from South Vietnam (e.g., Saigon), this app has reduced utility. The app itself doesn't seem too bad, but doesn't meet my needs.
