I love that CBD has ebooks and an app for tablets/smart phones because I like to support Christian businesses. That being said, the layout and function of this app is sorely lacking. It is difficult to navigate and there are little to no sorting functions which makes it very difficult to find the books I want to read. There are many wonderful reader apps in the market so I find it difficult to understand why this one does such a poor job. Updated - I didn't think it was possible, but this app actually seems to have gotten worse. Now I can't even log in to it to download any of my books on my tablet. I believe I will go on to their desktop reader and attempted to convert (which the website says I should be able to do) my books to PDF so that I can read them in a better reader app.

Update: Was able to call customer service and worked with me so updated my score. Will not by ebooks until I see marked improvement, but I always consider CBD for actual book purchases as they normally have competitive pricing. Thanks CBD! Just downloaded this for a couple of ebook purchases and now I know why CBD was so much less than competitors. Unless this changes I will no longer buy anything from CBD. They gave me incorrect information in the purchase itself, now I am trying to use this application and I cannot even highlight a Bible passage. I will give them a chance to read this review and fix the app, but based on the comments I see in other reviews I do not see a good customer experience from this company.

I was so excited when i found this app, but sadly it doesnt give you diverse payment options. I created an account but because my husband and i have a joint paypal i couldnt use that to pay. I also feel like the whole layout is limiting. You cant read the blurbs of books. Its confusing to manipulate through the site. It could be better done. Great concept, poor implementation.

I have used cbd reader for years, and have enjoyed using it. However, in the past few months have started having issues with downloading books. I get message, Problem downloading. I have to log out and log back in, then I have to download any previously downloaded books again. This is happening about every couple of weeks. Please fix this issue!

My biggest complaint with this app is you don't get a full book. Many chapters are missing the last page, so you don't get the full thought or scene. It's very frustrating. I would never buy an ebook through here because of that. The online web address allows (desktop) doesn't have this problem. So I read my free downloads through that (which isn't easy not portable) Please fix, this would be great if you did.

Please do something about the app. Can't download newly bought books or read old ones. It keeps crashing. "Sorry, but CBD Reader has stopped". The problem needs to be solved and fast too. Still waiting..... still unable to download or read my ebooks, waiting for the resolution please......

I don't like the fact that it doesn't allow me to Highlight when reading from my phone. Highlighting is only allowed on my IPad. Unlike the Kindle app which allows me to do both. It also doesn't stay at the bookmark. I beginning to HATE this app!!!

I am so tired of getting the same message that there was a problem downloading. I have to log off then log back in. Then comes the tedious task of downloading all my books again this happens every couple weeks without fail. Please fix and I will give 5 stars.

I have bought hundred of books from CBD.and was excited to get ebooks through them till I started using their app. I have uninstall and reinstall practically practically every time I use my tablet or smart phone. Once I've finished reading the books I've already download I will quit by from CBD.

Use to work great. Now i constantly get this message that i can't login at this time. Plus is says that its downloading but its not. Have to sign out and resign in eveytime i want to download a book. It also constantly skips back pages when im reading a book. Very very frustrating.

Does not work very well. I've been trying to look over a sample text and cannot get any information that will allow me to determine if the book is worth purchasing.

Can't understand how CBD sells eBibles for their reader and not allow you to go to chapter and verse ... at least to chapter. And when attempting to follow footnotes, study notes, etc., you could be taken to any section in the book except where the link is supposed to be connected to. After several tries you may finally get to intended connection. To repeat another review, this reader is absolutely useless.

The App is virtually unusable. In addition, whenever I update my device I can no longer read any DRM Free eBooks from CBD without going through the impossible process of removing ADE files and reinstalling everything. I have hundreds of eBooks, and unfortunately can no longer buy them from this company until they have an app that works... I Have tried to discuss with them and find solutions but I have finally decided to no longer by any digital content from CBD.

Don't like having to log out and in all the time to download new purchases. Having to download all your books all the time totally sucks. Also the app seems to be cutting off the last page of the chapter. Please fix this app so I can read the books I like. Thanks.

Books disappear every time you open the app. Unable to download them again from the cbd website. The site just sends you to the playstore. I appreciate the effort though and the fact that cbd processes checks. Also, if you log out and back in your books reappear.

Have to uninstall & then reinstall every time I want to download a book. Not convenient at all when I have bought 100+ & have only read a couple dozen.

I'm disappointed by the format of the book when reading it in the app. The formatting seems to have gotten lost (i.e. section headings, italicized formatting). I have noticed that there are no page numbers which gets confusing when my fingers accidentally change pages. Also, the app doesn't seem to remember well which page I ended at when I closed the app. I don't know if this is intentional or not but when I see there is a footnote on a page (a number in brackets after a word) I cannot seem to open that footnote even though it gives the impression I should be able to with it being a different color than the script.

I like using the reader but it crashes. I keep having to uninstall, then reinstall to download a new book. Not good...

Have to Uninstaller and reinstall every time I purchase new books. What a pain. Otherwise it works fine.

Stinks in every way possible. One of the worst apps ever. The worst part is, cbd is doing NOTHING to improve it!

If this app was not as buggy, I would truly buy more electronic content through CBD. I love the company and would rather support faith based companies than support Amazon -- but this app is unstable. I pray that it gets updated.

Not user friendly at all and does not even work 95% of the time! Totally disappointed

Difficult reading the New Spirit filled life study Bible. May have to buy a hard copy.

This app is terrible. It does not bookmark pages. Rather than keeping your spot, the app starts over from the beginning of the book.

Useless. I have it installed but when I try to listen to a something if keeps sending me to the google app page, it doesn't know it's installed

Please add a audio reading function to this app. This app is too basic , and it is stifling sales of ebooks from yr website.

Very basic ereader. It is better than nothing but not by much. Diligently searching for something else. It has made my 4.1.1 Android tablet unstable. It will not take you to links within the ebook. Really a very poor product. Try REALLY hard to find something better. This reader will greatly diminish your reading experience. Update to version 1.19 has made some difference. Hopefully better.

Crashes repeatedly. Fails to sync. Books unaccounably disappear. I use this because I must to read my CBD library, but it is an exercise in frustration.

As you read the pages turn by them selves. When you turn a page it turns 3 or 4 of them at a time. So as you read the book isn't making any sense. Please fix this

The bugs and issues are still there. The unregister and re-register only worked for the moment. The problems still happens after you close the app and open it again. A lot of pop up's saying "cannot process request" or "CBDReader has stopped working". Please address this problem, these eBooks are purchased by Your customers!!!!

I would give I 5 stars but it won't let me sync or download anymore. I don't know what happened. It used to work so well. PLEASE fix it

Keeps jumping back to the beginning of section, especially when going between this app and my note app. Also, I can't highlight anything. Ebooks have so much potential, but I find myself wishing I would have purchased the hard copies.

Thank you for fixing this App so that I can download some of my Ebooks. Home of my books seem to be missing! There needs to be away to store the books that I've already read. Kindle is way better!

This crashes all the time. I end up going to Kindle for my reading needs. It is ridiculous to buy and not be able to read my books. Frustrated.

I'm counting my blessings because the purpose is served, so I'm satisfied. I have this app on HTC one mini.

I have not been able to download my books it says cannot the request please try later. Please fix this

It is unfortunate that certain books can ONLY be read with the CBD app. It is cumbersome and almost every chapter's last page 'disappears'!!! It makes for a VERY FRUSTRATING read!!!!!

Constantly freezes up, and often won't sync or even open the ebooks. Very frustrating!
