أنشئت وكالة الجامعة للدراسات العليا والبحث العلمي بتاريخ 1/1/1431هـ وهي تشكل إحدى الركائز الأساسية في الجامعة ، حيث تعمل الوكالة على إنشاء مراكز أبحاث جديدة ، وذلك للارتقاء بالأبحاث العلمية والدخول في شراكات بحثية مع قطاعات خارج الجامعة ، والمساهمة في إيجاد الحلول العلمية للمشاكل التي تعترض خطط التنمية في البلاد ، وذلك من خلال التواصل مع الخبراء في كثير من المجالات العلمية المختلفة ، وأيضا إنشاء العديد من كراسي البحث العلمي ، وعقد العديد من الاتفاقيات العلمية مع جامعات مرموقة وجهات متخصصة داخل وخارج المملكة ، كذلك العمل علي رعاية شئون المعيدين والمحاضرين بالجامعة ، والإشراف على المبتعثين ومتابعة أوضاعهم الدراسية وتذليل الصعوبات التي تواجههم . وبالإضافة إلى ذلك تنجز الوكالة أعمال المجلس العلمي وما يناط به من مهام تختص بأعضاء هيئة التدريس بالجامعة ، فيما يخص التعيين والترقيات والنشر العلمي وغيره من المهام واللجان ، والتي تسهم بشكل كبير وفعال في تسيير وتطوير أعمال الجامعة. In addition, the Scientific Council of the Agency's work and accomplish the tasks entrusted by the competent members of the faculty, with respect to the appointment and promotion of scientific and other tasks and committees, which significantly contribute to the effective functioning and development of the university and the publishing business.
