About Gardeners Calendar
The Gardeners Calendar is the perfect gardening app for the gardener as it gives gardening advice and tips on all aspects of vegetable gardening. It also has a moon planting guide which is updated daily.
Unlike other Gardening apps this app is not made up of links to websites or external documents, nor does it require you to register to unlock further content. What it contains is valuable guides to all sorts of gardening jobs like how to make your compost, or what is the 'Three Sisters gardening technique'. It also contains lots of information about the vegetable plants you want to grow, like the pH range of the soil, the type of soil etc.
For seven years the Gardeners' Calendar has been providing a Moon Planting guide to gardeners around the world, and now you can take the guide with you on your mobile phone. Moon planting techniques have been used for thousands of years by farmers and gardeners. It helps you with the timings used for sowing, planting and harvesting your crops and therefore maximizes your yields.
There is also loads of information about the vegetables you are going to grow including the soil types, pH values, best aspect, and germination temperature which work best for them.
In this version the Moon Planting Guide provides seasonal advice to the Northern Hemisphere. The next version of the Guide will also support a seasonal sowing guide for the Southern hemisphere.

Not supported since 2013. Pro good write ups good but extremely basic info on the plants provided. Con some articles refer to articles not even available. Typos. Cannot look at tomorrow's moon recomendations. No chance of any improvements.

No update since 2012. Potato tab mentioned in other posts still shows not available. The moon planting guide only shows one day. The app looks like it could be helpful, but it is not being updated.

I would like to choose the vegetables I want, then see a timeline I need for them for them. I might be lazy, but that would be awesome.

I wish it had at least the week calendar that is on line...a whole month would be better for planning. But otherwise has valuable information no matter where you live in the world. Keep updating this app has great promise.

I am loving this app and all the information it contains. I love the no adverts and no links to other sites. I would like to suggest 2 devlopment options for the future. First would be a way to increase the text size. while I can read it, it seems to be a little small on this tablet. Secondly, I personally perfer a landscape view on tablets so, maybe tbe auto rotation would be good. Keep up the good work.

I know you mention that Southern hemisphere support is in the pipeline, but is there a way of advancing the app's dates 6 months in advance in the interim? At the moment i have to change my device's date.

Actually the companion website to this Gardeners Calendar App, has superbly detailed info for gardening by the moons phases. However, there is an error on it presently (early Feb) which causes this great info to disappear. This app only has a brief outline in comparison. The vegetable information is great though! Hoping they make a Moon Gardening Wall Chart I can purchase. There are few of them available!
