What are users saying about Plays Everywhere (Beta)

K70%
by K####:

Didn't work. Failed to download one film properly (which I now can't watch even though it says it's in my library ) and didn't recognise the valid code on another film. Flixster is waaaaay better, though obviously you can't watch Fox digital on it. This beta feels like a half-hearted attempt by Fox to join the digital copy world.

K70%
by K####:

This app stopped working some months a go, reinstalled it and the codes were lost, reentered them, all one device, and tried again. Again not working, then asked the codes again...at one point I got the message that I have used it in the maximum number of devices! One device not once worked! Terrible!

K70%
by K####:

Only to find it still crashes. Still won't accept licence key but then appears to download movie. Download never completes. Atrocious state of affairs. Ultraviolet, Flixter all work why not this?

K70%
by K####:

Taking forever to download my film. Sick to death of the overprotected film company security garbage. If you bought a film you shouldn't need to put up with this crap.

K70%
by K####:

Crash Everywhere is garbage. Does not work on any of my devices. Need to avoid buying Blu-rays that offer this as the digital option.

K70%
by K####:

Simply doesn't work. Error code 006 every time. Appalling !!

K70%
by K####:

This app should be on the JUNK FILTER list. Simply not possible to play digital copies, eg Prometheus.

K70%
by K####:

Download crashes, cannot launch movie without freezing. Echo prior comments. I don't want another movie playback platform; Flixster is just fine. Nor do I want to be forced to put and keep a movie on internal storage without a cloud copy. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. BYPASS THIS MIS-CONCEIVED AND POORLY EXECUTED APP.

K70%
by K####:

Like others, I've spent over a day trying to get this app (and the awful PC interface) to get just one film on my tablet, and it doesn't work. Thank god for UltraViolet on other titles ....no Planet of the apes for me it seems

W70%
by W####:

I cannot watch a movie on here. I downloaded one and it just puts me on a blank screen when i want to play it

M70%
by M####:

Took an age to download the film and has used got loads of space but refuses to work. It says going to play the film but then just sit there doing nothing. Rubbish

C70%
by C####:

Looks good, why not intergate with ultraviolet?Oh,I know, its because this is owned by fox!And we know who runs that, dont we?

O70%
by O####:

First time of using it it says playback error 006! Got a film I can not watch!! Nexus 2013 32 gig!

M70%
by M####:

added as i had my first film using this and it doesn't even work.

M70%
by M####:

u need to download all your movie before you can watch them

M70%
by M####:

It continuously crashes whenever you try to do anything. Garbage app.

P70%
by P####:

Whoever's holding up development of this app should be fired. Won't stream. Insists on download which 20 hrs later hasn't been completed. Uninstalled.

M70%
by M####:

Have tried to download a film all day just says downloading

Z70%
by Z####:

Cannot play movie. Crashes often.when trying to play movie just get a black screen.

T70%
by T####:

Worst app I've ever attempted to use. Crashed when a code is entered, crashed several times before it would actually download the film, crashes when trying to watch the film. They must have spent about 2 mins and 0.50p developing this app.

by S####:

Doesn't run on rooted devices. Requires Wifi connection to download movie file (won't work over a 25MBit/s LTE unlimited plan downstream connection which is the type of connectivity that mobile people really have nowadays). Proposal to Fox Digital Entertainment Ltd.: remove the root and wifi filters, OR, maybe the better solution, switch from the download system to a streaming system, because I don't know anybody who likes to clog the storage of her/his mobile devices with huge movie files anyway... Of course you'd have to maintain a user database and their movie libraries. But it would be certainly a smarter solution. Maybe team up with YouTube? They got a "purchases" section in the user accounts since you can buy movies from Google play...

C70%
by C####:

Never have I seen an app lack in so many key features! First up, let me choose whether or not I can download via WiFi or 4G... I have an All-You-Can-Eat data plan which is actually faster than my home broadband! Secondly, where is the progress bar? The app keeps telling me that Prometheus is downloading, but I have no indication of how far along it is. Thirdly, the UI is very early-Android. It looks outdated. Forth, no settings. Seriously? What if this app is downloading to my phone when I want it on the external card? To sum up: You'd think a huge company like Fox would be able to employ some people who knows how to make apps. I realize that this is a Beta version, but it really seems more like Alpha! Very poor!

O70%
by O####:

If for any reason you have to wipe your phone, dont exspect the movies to be there to re dow load. It lacks even the basic movie features has poor download options and will cause you more stress then entertainment. Play anywhere except when you want to

S70%
by S####:

Like others here, I find it ridiculous that we have to install yet another app that doesn't really work in order to watch a movie that we have paid for. And then you have to download the movie. Why can't it just transfer it from the computer? This is so stupid it defies description. And the app crashes about half of the time when I start it.

C70%
by C####:

Can't get movies to download in a reasonable amount if time, and then when they're finally downloaded, they won't play.

Updated nexus now doesn't work!!

C70%

Very slow, video won't even work.

E70%

Works well. Disappointed that downloads cannot be moved to the external SD card.

N70%
by N####:

Could really do with being able to move it to sd card to save using internal memory

N70%
by N####:

But most of the time I get licensing errors

N70%
by N####:

I like it but I can't download a video what do I do

I70%
by I####:

Films ok if they play but take to long to put on and can't fast forward

C70%

Fix orientation and add dlna.

N70%
by N####:

Very slow, video won't even work.

K70%
by K####:

Works well, no problem encountered. Simple to use.

N70%
by N####:

My movies all apparently have been redeemed too many times??? Twice? Because I had to reinstall the app!!

N70%
by N####:

Useless

P70%
by P####:

Stupid useless waste of time, don't bother.

Q70%
by Q####:

It's disappointing in the first place that you need a separate app, rather than supporting a cross-film studio option like Ultraviolet. But the app itself crashes when I try to use the progress slider at the bottom of the film to skip through it. If this would at least allow the films to be played through my main Movies app, then I would not have this issue. It also stores the data on the main tablet memory, rather than the sd card, with no way to change.
