Cannot customize news sources, fake and pay to view news in stream. No way to choose or block sources. Articles not ordered chronologically, no option to change this - News 2 days old is shown before breaking news. Cluttered mess.

App does not utilize the same sources as Google News. Google also stealth killed the ability for users to manually add RSS feeds. This is horrible for people who want local news as it won't let you add your local news sites to the app. Meanwhile you will see them appear in the local section of Google News. It's like these apps were creates by two different companies.

I like how the app lets me quickly browse through headlines. However, the way how it manages recommendations needs improvement. We should be able to tell the recommendations specifically what we like and dislike instead of marking individual stories and hoping we see less of the topic; for example, if I don't want to see political news as much, I should be able to just type "politics" in a "dislike" category. Other than that, the app is great.

This app lets you keep up on a lot of things in the news entertainment and just all around reading I'll I get myself why don't you try and see

App freezes often and stories fail to update. I use this for my primary news source and it has become slow and tedious, constantly closing then re-opening just to get it to work. Edit: after a few updates, the app has greatly improved. I like it a lot of the new features and I will continue to use it for my main news source.

There is no way to report any shady or inappropriate articles that show up. This ranges from articles with f-bombs in the title to nudity. Please remove these new articles and also allow the user to delete/report a card from the app. Reading the news on my phone in public is starting to get embarrassing.

It offers an exclusively "Blue State," progressive sampling of perspectives from the same "herd of independent minds" that all think alike, drink from the same well, and eat from the same menu. Unlike,say, the SmartNews app, which mixes up stories from both the left and the right so one can, hopefully, get a "balanced" perspective. The app would be better if it wasn't so homogeneous.

Hate it! I download my subscribed magazines. It claims they are downloaded, but then changes its mind when I actually try to read it. Says I need to be online. Amazingly annoying and frustrating. Makes it just useless on my tablet.

Basically i am using this app in india and i want to see my news in my national language HINDI So it will be a humble request to google that plese introduce hindi language in news section also as you know that you have a huge followers of india.

The news feed needs to be improved and the offline news for you concept is great. The news for you should be loaded from the offline version even when there is a net connection. It will help us to load the news even when there is a slow connection. Thanks!

Constantly hangs trying to load Offline content. I ride the subway to work and like to read offline news on my commute. I download my news sources in the morning before I head out. Since subway wifi/LTE signal is weak/non-existent at times the app constantly tries to download and update offline news articles each time I open them. If my cell signal is weak (which it is for 99% of the subway ride) the app won't load the article and just spins waiting for a signal that will never come for an article I DOWNLOADED OFFLINE. So annoying and defeats the entire purpose of Offline news. Workaround is to disable mobile signal but that get annoying fast. Looking for alternatives since the offline function is useless. just download the article and leave it alone, no need to constantly try and update it.

I have the app set to download the for me section when on wifi and charging which my phone does every night but then I get on the path train and check my stories and they're all old! It doesn't work!

Update: I've downgraded my rating to 2. Having persevered for months, I still don't like many aspects of the UI. Also, offline mode is useless. If the app gets the slightest hint of a data signal it seems to throw away all cached data and seek out the new. This is not helpful when in the underground but a stray signal drifts in. I keep asking for offline improvements but things just seem to get worse. This is the only app with any vestiges of offline use left. And it could be good again.

Very Easy To Get News All Over The World. As a suggestion, merged google news app with this app!! Add to home screen for sources and topics is great. Auto download is a welcomed feature and also notification for new magazine issues. Splash screen has been introduced. Weather forecast is great and loads faster now. A better navigation on the highlight section and articles load faster now. New icon has been introduced

what a major step backwards, no tabs at top, can't swipe left or right though topics any more. its become just a messy webpage. uninstalling

there are way too many google apps chrome is a battery killer so deleted that and newstand is like extra baggage not needed bye bye

Been using it for a while now and it fails to learn about dislikes (seriously, I don't know how many sporting articles I have flagged but they still keep coming) and can repeat articles too frequently. Sometimes the news is just out of date.

I had been really enjoying this app. I even got a subscription for the Washington post through this app. However the news stories have not refreshed at all for the last 2 days?!

Nearly all of the stories presented to me had a liberal slant. Tell me the facts of the story without bashing one side or the other. I can make up my own mind about what is good or bad.

It delivers news of various topics: from politics, entertainment, science, to technology. It is really an aggregated app that it appears is working with top read and shared articles from CNN, to The New York Times. It is great

How can an app with so much data on me still have so little idea what I'm interested in? Topics I never ever read about dominate my news feed now. The AI powered similar stories are usually the exact same story from a different source which is pointless. Consistently shows me news in other languages. Generally slow to load and frequently can't open articles. Ads often seem to auto-click.

It's a great app, but I spend far too much time in it. It would be nice to filter out certain topics. Just because I keep clicking on Trump stuff doesn't mean it's good for my sanity to read.

Way too left wing bias. I do not want fake news or attempted indoctrination...and no I am not a Republican.

Relies too heavily on Progressive news sources such as the New York Times, Huff Poo, and Slate. Have never seen a single story sourced from Fox News or its equivalents.

Having played around with removing sources and materials that are far left leaning it appears to make no difference. Every source or article continues to maintain a hard left leaning perspective in the recommended articles.

If you think TMZ is real news then you will love this app. Unfortunately, for people with atleast half a brain you'll have to find the real headlines that matter elsewhere. The customization elements of this app to limit what sources are pushed on you must still be in development because it absolutely doesn't work.

Nice layout, but there is clearly an agenda at work here. I am constantly presented with articles from Huffington Post and CNN, even though I never read those. I'm constantly barraged with anti Trump, pro DNC articles, even if it requires pushing old news to the top. No way to select sources, and delivering news based on what I read appears to be a false claim. Uninstalled.

Cannot get rid of rubbish like CNN thus it is probably stuffed with fake news. Might explain why Trump is the president.

No matter how many times I ask this to stop recommending articles on sport, television and celebrities there they are again the next time I refresh the content. A frustrating experience. Edit: A month later and I'm still getting unwanted sport, television and celebrity stories. Down to 1 star. Does Google actually know what 'recommend fewer stories like this' actually means? Another month and I still get far too many sport stories. Come on Google, you can do better than this.

All my categories are now hidden behind a menu instead of easily swiped to. Video auto play is atrocious and there I go digging back into my settings to turn it off. I'll suffer through it for now but I'm back in the market for a news READER. Update: now in my science feed, is showing me fake tabloid news without mention of a genuine Hubble article my wife was showing me. I'm better off without a news reader than this piece of garbage. Google is just our generation's IBM now, and not even a good one.

Just the same "News" from the same 3-4 sources. I can't believe the daily top headlines is all about the President. The same "News" topic permeates into nearly all my interests. Seriouly, nothing else is happening in the world other than the President? This use to be a great app before the election campaigns happened.

A lot of the articles are 4 - 20 hours old! Flipboard and some other news app that came with my phone are much better. Also why do I have to see the 'For You' stories when I'm only interested in topics that I've subscribed to. Don't force me to see stories that don't interest me.

Where are the tabs? The whole layout of the app has changed for the worse. And there are too many ads killing the joy of reading. Why don't you just keep it simple like it used to be.

I cannot make the selections for the source material I want to read. I am always presented with fake news from the New York Slimes and the Clinton News Network.

For one stop Printed NEWS source this app is it. For video/audio news it seems lacking. But for recommending & filtering news torwards your interests this is the best☺

One of my primary news sources, however lately it has a strange refresh and loading quirk. The list of available articles keeps shifting and rearranging, and that's annoying for someone who wants to keep track of what's been read and what to read next.

Perfect news app, like the weighting on imagery and scales perfectly on tablet. Only criticism is some articles appear a day or so late in feed sometimes.

What's up with the constant refresh of topics? It now refreshes while trying to read the topic... Really hard to read when this happens... Please fix.

Has all the content one could ever need for free, and even better stuff for reasonable prices. Can download favorite sites, books and magazines for reading when offline. Fast, efficient, this is the app I use multiple times a day without any problems.
