Panchatantra, meaning "Five Principles", is an ancient Indian collection of educational stories. It is an inter-related collection of animal fables in verse and prose, in a frame story format. These stories are equally popular and are enjoyed by both the children and the grown-ups. The Panchatantra is available in many Indian languages. The original work was composed in the 3rd century BCE by Vishnu Sharma in Sanskrit.
