Easy DIY Crochet Ribbed Scarf

Easy Ribbed Scarf looks more fabulous with variegated yarns that color changes shortly. It’s a simple pattern crocheting in back loop of each single crochet stitches. Anyway, this scarf is not only for men. The pattern will perfectly match for women as well. You can make this scarf with your favorite #4-Medium or Worsted weight yarn, solid or variegated yarn. We selected a larger hook J-10, 6mm for the loose and stretchy stitches. Start with any number of stitches you want and finish after the width you want to get. Also, you can add fringes. It’s your choice.

Materials

#4-Medium / Worsted weight yarn. (Approx: 220 yards)
J-10, 6mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle for weaving ends.

Gauge: Gauge is not very important for this pattern.

Abbreviations

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
st(s) = stitch(s)
BLO = Back Loop Only
beg = beginning
* to ; = repeat * to the instructions.

Note: beg ch does not count as a st.

ch 176+1 (or any number of stitch + 1)

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st across, turn. (176 sts total)

Row 2: working in BLO, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (176 sts total)

Row 3 to 18: repeat row 2. Fasten off and weave the ends. For the fringe, I cut 10″ yarn pieces to make about 5″ long fringe.
