About ListNote Speech-to-Text Notes

Take notes even when you don't feel like typing! Just speak your note, and it will be saved as text. This notepad app was designed to quickly jot down your ideas, with minimal hassle. And it makes it easy to keep those ideas organized.

Features:

* Hands-free speech recognition at the press of a single button.

* Searchable. Notes are indexed for fast searching.

* Password protection option for notes.

* Share notes with SMS, email, Twitter, and any other app that accepts plain text.

* Quickly add notes. If you have a slide out keyboard, just slide it out and start typing.

* Accepts plain text from other apps that share.

* Password locked notes are encrypted beyond the first 20 characters. This allows you to be able to identify and search for the note, while at the same time have the rest of it encrypted with the AES encryption standard. This is the same encryption standard used by the US government and banks.

* Star notes with star filtering.

* Color-code notes and filter your list by color.

* Organize notes by category.

* Deleted notes are moved to the trash so you have a chance to restore them.

Added Features:

* SD Card Backup and Restore. Lets you make a backup of all your notes and stores them encrypted on your SD card.
* Continue button after creating your voice note, so you can add additional speech text if needed.
* Time to Breathe option - lets you choose how long to wait before stopping speech input.
* Full Screen and popup screen text editors.
* Quotation marks. You can now say Quotation Mark and it will place one in your note.
* Carriage Return. You can say Carriage Return to simulate pressing the Enter key.
* Category Sharing. You can share/export an entire category of notes.
* Light and Dark Themes.

Popular uses:

* Quick and easy note taking with speech to text. Your voice is "recorded" as text. Does not function as an actual voice recorder though.
* Text editor. You can use ListNote as a classic note pad, but with more speech-to-text functionality.
* Shopping list. Great when you want to quickly make note of something you'll need at the grocery store.
* Notebook organized with color tabs. You can make a color note tab by long-pressing a note and selecting "Change Tab Color".
* Simple note-taking. Many people prefer a notepad app that doesn't require you to make an account and upload all of your notes to a server. There is no account necessary with ListNote. All of your notes are stored on your own device.
* Dictation software. You can transcribe your thoughts quickly and easily. You can then edit the result like you would with any note-taking app. When you're editing the notes in the text view, you can insert speech anywhere in the text, and even undo the last speech input if it didn't turn out right.
* Secure notes. You can create safe notes that are private. These private notes are locked with password protection. When you lock a note it's an easy way to encrypt text from prying eyes.

Requirements:

* Google voice search is required for speech to text functionality to work. Most devices come with it pre-installed. If you don't want to use the speech recognition functions, the app is still fully functional without it.

This is one of the few apps I've found with voice. Love this feature. The only problem is that my Samsung G5 doesn't have a designated menu button so I don't have a way to access the menu. Let me know if I have missed something to open it or please put an on-screen button to open it and you've got 5 stars!

B70%
by B####:

I have used it before. Pretty good. Not perfect. But perfection in such apps will take ages. The app takes up less than 2MB, and doesn't use all your personal data to download. Google must disallowed apps from accessing all personal data. It makes people vulnerable to companies and individuals, especially children and old folks.

by V####:

I tried this 2 yrs ago, and gave it 1 star. It looks like they've made changes, so I reinstalled it recently. All I can do is make a note - nothing else. It talks about a "menu" button, but there is NO SUCH THING. I emailed for support, but haven't heard from them. Maybe they can't do any more than make a note either.

I like this app, and am especially impressed with how well it records the speech to text. It's simple, and nicely organized. However, I'll be uninstalling it soon if the issue about not being able to erase a category once it's created isn't fixed soon. There are directions for how to do this (long press, wait for prompt to pop up and move to trash), but nothing happens when you go to do the long press. Hope it gets updated!

I was looking for an apps which can collect my ToDo list while I can't type at the moment. I have looked about 5 apps and found this apps works best for me. It has ability to categories items, you can share/email. Voice to text quality is not 100‰ accurate but still better than other apps. I am glad to find this apps. Hope version upgrade makes it better v/s break it.

L70%
by L####:

ListNote is the best voice to text app I've found. This is primarily because it does not stop transcribing immediately when you take just a short pause in your speaking, like so many other apps. The sharing feature is good, and I use it to easily put my notes into Google keep. Quick and easy to use!

M70%
by M####:

It does what you expect. I use it to write on the go and it's great for that. Transcribed my voice high very good accuracy. Only problem I haven't figured out punctuation and if it doesn't get what I said it writes something silly so gotta watch out and correct manually. Also it stops transcribing randomly so sometimes I'm using and I think it's hearing but it's not.

by R####:

They changed something about how you enter a note and now I don't know how to complete a note. There is no button anymore to indicate that the note is complete. I assume I am missing something but I have not been able to figure out what it is. Obviously it's not intuitive. They have also added an annoying ad Banner above the keyboard. If the app had subcategories I would probably pay to not have the ads, but as it is, particularly with the problem mentioned above , it's not worth it for me.

M70%
by M####:

This app was very inaccurate. 60% of the time I had to type my on words, the app was created so you didn't have to type, fail #1. 30% of the time I had to repeat my self because it typed incorrect words and the other 10% it was accurate. FAIL

I would love to use this commercial hear commercial hear commercial hear but it's like trying to use your smartphone with a moving bilolboard flashing at you. I can't see commercial commercial here commercial here how somebody who could make such a decent commercial commercial commercial pat the make such an unholy mistake its not offer a paid version.

by R####:

Very helpful! Saves me time by allowing me to speak my thoughts into a list that I can easily refer to later. I was delightfully surprised at the accuracy and relative smoothness of the speech-to-text. I expected it to be buggy and frustrating. This is just the kind of app I've been wishing for!

M70%
by M####:

This app is pretty handy. I like the way I can easily edit lists and share my lists as well. The big thing I would change is the fact that I can not strike out individual items in a list. I use this to make lists of items I take on trips because I always end up forgetting things.....but not anymore!

Y70%
by Y####:

it's great, I've been looking for this. some remarks tho for improvement. so it would get all five stars. one a widget so I can record a note very fast and easy. I often use it in the car. so a widget would allow me to click and record. then it's unfortunatly only in english... more languages would be awesome.

M70%
by M####:

i use it all the time. Only one minor issue: If I make a new voice recording the first instance of the note allows very little time for it to be edited. I can record only the first few words before it automatically saves. Then I must reopen the new file to continue editing.

M70%
by M####:

This app is easy to use & gives you a tutorial category that's always there if you forget how to do something. I'm all about organization & this app makes this easier. My phone is always with me so I have the notes available or can add things as I go through the day.

M70%
by M####:

This app only allows for a few seconds of speech. I don't know about you but my classes are longer than a few seconds. I am looking for a transcription app that can handle at least an hours worth of data. Please email me if you have one and I'll give you 5 stars.

M70%
by M####:

I downloaded it, and immediately began writing a stand up routine, spent a lot of time on it, and right at the end it said it closed and had to be reopened. All of that writing vanished. I even texted by hand 90% of it, since the voice app is very unreceptive.

C70%
by C####:

Good verbal interaction and I love the time stamp... but there is no menu or settings. The tutorial shows a menu to share categories but it isn't anywhere on my phone and that was one of the main reasons for me to pick this app.

M70%
by M####:

It's a great concept.i love it. It would be really helpful if the app can recognize the words correctly the first time. I had to repeat my words several times to get it right in which time I could have easily typed or written the data down.

U70%
by U####:

App does what it says on the packet, however UI is clunky and voice recognition is spotty. Given Google's own Keep app does this function now amongst everything else I've uninstalled this in favour of Keep

M70%
by M####:

Would like to see it be able to let you add pictures and a verbal alert/alarm for timed lists and a time setting for when your setting appts well then you gotta have a date format too. WHEW I just wore myself out with all that combining changing re writing etc of an already great tool Nevermind the app is just fine the way it is cause once u start combining apps the original version gets messed up and you lose quality. SO just ignore this crazy redhead

Thank you for rescuing a poet with too many handwritten notes. Saved me hours of dreaded typing. This wonderful app is simple, efficient, and a pleasure to use. It has recharged my creativity!

M70%
by M####:

I'm not sure yet. I think I'm going to like it, just not clear yet. 1,the first screenshot over...why does it not look the same? My doesn't show that, can't find trash?? Not really a "menu" so, can you change the default list that shows when you open it? On reviews, "reminders" is listed (top of reviews) I assume it must be, having a note, reminds you. NOT an actual alarm reminder, not sure. I too have a Samsung, no menu button as explained so, must be missing alot! I'll update as soon as I get a clue if it has the options above. I hope, looks handy to have!

Works pretty darn well. I am pleasantly surprised. I have used software like this in the past and it was always a terrible experience. For me, this is a huge step forward from previous apps I have downloaded Nice..

B70%
by B####:

can't use the app, every time I try to hit the settings button or anything else at the bottom, I am taken to the 'clean sweep' download page. um, what? fix your ads this is virtually useless.

I write a lot of notes on paper and sometimes have to make corrections, this app keeps me from using white out. Being a trk driver I can always got back an make the necessary changes.

H70%

On my S5 in a very quiet room, it only understood about half of what I said. No way to backup to correct errors so the memo was a mess. Google and S voice understand me.

M70%

Now in this time I write a note with help of this app manytimes I thought I submit any note but the hard typing process and time taken typing tools are restricted my way. But in this app I can able to write what I want without any doubt of any spelling mistakes. Thank you...

M70%
by M####:

It's an OK app and serves its purpose, but it could be better at word recognition. It comes up with some pretty ridiculous words that I didn't say, and it skips a lot, so many words are completely omitted.

O70%
by O####:

Really like this app because it works with my NZ accent. Most voice recognition gets badly confused. Have a given a 4 though because the interface is pretty clunky.

N70%
by N####:

Although speech recognition is good, this app fails to save any notes at all. Notes spoken longer than approx. 10 seconds long are ignored. This app appears to be user-unfriendly. Disappointed, I have uninstalled it... I wasted my time. Too bad!

Y70%
by Y####:

This app is awesome. Justifying 100%. But I can't use it. Because, the only draw back is the pop up sound for every pause and stop of the speech, which is a distraction for the other employees while trying to take a speech to text in everyday meetings. I wish it doesn't make a sound or with an option to choose sound on/off.

If you are as detail oriented as I am, but hate having to jump through lots of hoops to get it, HERE'S YOUR APP! Auto time stamp, anytime edit of text /category /tab color! Simple, STUNNING interface! Easy sharing! Perfect for paper - trailing events! And tiny storage space! All with voice recognition that EVEN DOES PUNCTUATION! 10 stars if I could!

It looks nice. It was hard to for me to use it due to the big adds. I had to force myself to use so I can provide a feedback. I downloaded this apps as it looked promising for taking voice notes. During my short test, I had to stop due to continuously misinterpretation. Most of the misinterpretation became bad words that were a far cry from my dictation. Thanks.

Doesn't work with Motorola G Android latest version. Keep pressing on note categories and it brings you in a continuous circle to all note categories. Uninstalled.

M70%
by M####:

This technology has come on leaps and bounds since I had my last one, which cost a weeks wages and which i spent weeks teaching my accent and,... Yeah well. This works pretty well straight out of the box. Ok, it doesn't get everything, but it's close. It is quicker to dictate and edit than type. Pretty close to getting it right, though . And it's so simple to use. Luvvit

M70%

Not saying is better than Google recognition, but competitive and have some useful tools.. User friendly and small size..

M70%
by M####:

I'm liking it so far. I'm impressed at how accurate it is in translation from speech to text. I work in an extremely noisy environment, and it's accuracy is second to none at this point. I'm not sure I like the look and feel of the app, but I haven't put too much thought it it to make suggestions for improvement.

M70%
by M####:

Fairly intuitive UI, with about a 95% correct recognition. Any minor mistakes easily alterable. Best app I've found for the job.

G70%
by G####:

Translation appears good, most words get typed as spoke. My only suggestion is if the share with would include calendar event, at this time I need to copy to clipboard and start the calendar event myself.
