Better than I thought it would be. I'm saving up my Google Play credits to buy the full version. The repetition is key to committing the new vocabulary to long term memory. There are lots of fun extras, too, like jokes and stories.

Surprisingly very good. The technique of using flash cards really challenges you to dig deep to recall, but I find me espanol is improving steadily so it seems to be working. But the dialogues provided in free version are spoken much too fast to be helpful for beginners.

Tried a couple of other apps first. One had me incessantly repeating stupid phrases that I'd never use. And another was great in the paid version (which, at $10/month, wasn't cost-effective), but anemic in the free version. Mosa Lingua lets one set the learning level and, CRITICALLY, lets one bypass items that one already knows. And, just as critically, it works offline (in train tunnels). For a free app it's truly outstanding (especially when supplemented by a couple of old Spanish texts).
