Black Top and Checker Cabs

Completely Useless App Used it to make a booking in the morning for a van to pickup at 6:00pm. It was a no show. When I called I was told vans were a 45 to 60 minute wait. I thought the idea of booking in advance was so that one could have a vehicle on time. What a waste of time.

Absolutely garbage. Ugly. Hard to use. Always slower than calling. The credit card function doesn't work for me. Time estimates are lies. Crashes. Sometimes the rides never get confirmed by the system ever. Nothing good about this app. Can't wait for Uber to come to Vancouver.

Used to be alright, now wanted 45 min for a taxi nothing came, when I checked the app it said it's been canceled even though I haven't touched anything. Taxi apps are a joke in Vancouver

The app said the eta was 2 minutes for 25 minutes. Finally the cab that I ordered stopped at another address a few houses down and someone else took my cab. The driver apparently didn't bother to verify that the person getting in was the person who booked it. The app then showed my booking as completed. I am less than impressed!

Driver comes 3 mins earlier....

Constantly cancelled bookings no notice given.

I think it is worse taxi app ever. Please hire professionals and remake app.

App unusable. Immediately asks the user to register, then freezes in an "updating terms and conditions" toast message. Perfectly representative of a broken, unionized industry that can't keep up with the innovation and cost-efficiency of novel ride-sharing companies - instead of wasting your time on this app, just hail a cab on the streets until better options become available.

Installed the app multiple times. The map screen currently shows as blank. Cabs come (accept booking and arrive) without notification appearing on the app, increasing the possibility of my missing the cab.

Could not use it, a nagging message appears saying there's no internet connectivity but somehow I downloaded the app and wrote this review without internet

Couldn't run app. Wouldn't let me register, kept throwing server errors.

Worse cab app ever

Requires registration at the very beginning. What's the point?

Nothing worked

Even when the app shows a cab is available nearby and its estimated wait time, it still won't book it.

They never send the taxi to the right address and I can't change that setting. Wasting my time!

Doesn't know my street, selects Vancouver in US instead of Canada, taxis often don't arrive or leave before app even warns that the taxi has arrived. And you're surprised we want Uber and Lyft here?

Allows you to book the cab but does tell you a thing about whether you have a cab or where it is. Uber, you have nothing to worry about.

Useless. Booking doesn't actually get you a cab. Just tells them you'd like one and roughly where you are if it's busy, forget it. Time for Uber

Terrible, we need uber. Never got picked up in 1+hours

This way you can watch your cab as it turns away and chooses not to pick you up. Would be amazing if you were able to put in your destination, find out the complete cost ahead of time and pull directly from you credit card. Also, if there was some way to encourage semi-decent service would be nice. Wonder if there's an app for that? I guess one can only wish that we're weren't monopolized but companies that offer such terrible service to the residents and visitors of Vancouver...

Was argued with multiple times by incompetent driver. Not taken to final destination in a storm. Also driver further than necessary. I called and spoke to the supervisor and everyone was pretty rude - talked to 3 people before i got supervisor on the phone. No refund for overage and all he gave was an almost excuse and lame apology. Im going back to yellow cabs.

Good until the city has a high demand for cabs. Then the app seems to crash. I've lost a number of cabs because the app didn't tell me when my booking was accepted and I live in a basement so I rely on the app to tell me, because I don't reliable reception to get the phone call.

Multiple times have had a driver mark me as 'no pickup' because they dont seem to know how a phone works or park a block away even when given a GPS location AND clear location markings. One even tried to drop me off 5 blocks from my apt in a sketchy part of town and tried to reassure me that it was the location (yeah i dont know where i live thanks mate). Their customer service doesnt care either, you call to complain and they will have a go at you telling you to not blame their drivers (laughable, i know!)

I live downtown and I use this app frequiently. I love it. Never have had an issue besides it crashing every once in a while. But no big deal. The cabs always arrive promptly and I like that it lets me know how far away my taxi is.

The address the app found for my current location turned out to be wrong and sent the car to another building. Of the payment options, cash, card, account only cash worked but that information want even sent to the driver. It promised the ability to track the car but that doesn't work either. It's easier to just call the taxi service, this app is garbage

I'm in Vancouver as a tourist, need a good taxi app. Tried this one. I entered my personal info, and just got a dialog saying "Forbidden". Over and over. Guess I'll use a different cab company.

Went through registration and tried to make booking but kept failing. Visitor to Vancouver so unlikely to ever use again. Tried to call the company to get a taxi but after 4 minutes on hold, I gave up.

The cabbies wonder why people want Uber. Look at this app. Total pos. I couldn't get it to flag, I couldn't order through the app, I couldn't order online. The cab companies need to invest some money in real developer talent otherwise they will be overrun by progressive companies. I ended up having to go outside and wait to flag someone.

Rude cab drivers, horrible coordination with dispatch. We tried to call for a cab, and after 15 minutes on hold I installed the app and ordered one that way. A few minutes later a cab showed up where we were waiting, driver knew my name so we got in and headed to our destination. 10 minutes later I got a phone call from another cab driver, wanting to know why I was not at the pickup location. I explained that we were already picked up "You should have called in to cancel then. I wasted my time coming to get you" Well for starters extremely rude, and we would still be on hold at that point if we had tried. Considering that we had been picked up, after using the app, this seems to be a coordination problem with the app or the dispatch. The app now lists that ride as "No pickup" which I assume is a black mark on my record. Unimpressed, getting a cab is usually a hassle, this seems to only make it worse.

Drivers are extremly rued and their customer service is terrible. I filed a complain over a month ago and still no response. DO NOT USE!

It doesn't send the email to reset so I can't use this app anymore after switching phones.

Cabs never come at scheduled time. Never. Also, the interface is laughably bad. #Fail

I was on hold for a while before I downloaded the app and registered and booked a taxi. And was still on hold by the time I had finished booking the taxi. Way better then calling.
