What are users saying about South Western Railway

Y70%
by Y####:

National rail app. is better and more up-to-date date, live trains only shows trains past the current time, what if I want to check at what time a train arrived in the past? Signing up procedure is a real mess. Not designed for the commuter who ultimately are your most important customers. Must do better...

G70%
by G####:

Just awful. I felt that the poor service provided by South Western was the lowest of lows but this app takes it to the extreme. It can't help you at all

Y70%
by Y####:

Impossible to use. It kept asking me to sign in, multiple times even though I hadn't signed out or even finished what I was doing. Having selected an outward train I couldn't see how to move on to select the return train or actually buy the tickets!!

K70%
by K####:

Mediocre. Have a look at Cross Country trains to see how it should be done. Why do I keep having to sign in from scatch? Passwqord only would be fine. Only reason I use it is because if something goes wrong it's easier to claim a refund on SW Trains if you've booked with SW Trains.

Y70%
by Y####:

Awful app and awful service since change over. Doesn't show prices for all time options and cannot select ticker i want just the app suggestions (the most expensive) despite putting in the exact time train i want.

Y70%
by Y####:

Sub standard all the way , does not show all services available for chosen route . The live info is useless as it never updates or shows any disruption

M70%
by M####:

Covers basic information and booking requirements.

Y70%
by Y####:

Its OK

Y70%
by Y####:

Almost as good as the GWR version

Y70%
by Y####:

Good app

J70%
by J####:

Clearly none of the people making this app use a train or the app... you cannot even find a train station, it uses a Google location search and returns bus stops? Poor UI and a terrible user journey to go along with their train journeys. Shocked that it 2017 this is acceptable. Fire the entire team.

Y70%
by Y####:

Rubbish. This is geared towards the occasional traveller. As a commuter I want a focus on train running information and problems focussing on getting me to or from work. E.g an alert for my regular train or when there are problems on my lune would be helpful. I don't need to buy a ticket I have already given you over £2k. Missed opportunity. Their website sucks too. SWR on track to be far worse than SWT - good effort!

D70%
by D####:

If it ain't broke.... This app worked fine before it was upgraded. I was able to book and buy tickets with ease. Since upgrading the app I havent been able to buy a ticket. It keeps repeating info that it has already given me. I will now have to find another way to buy my weekly tickets.

E70%
by E####:

Massive Improvement on the diabolical thing that came before, however lots of work to do. As a regular traveller it would be far more beneficial if it opened to the train times, rather than tickets page. It also needs a feedback button so we can all provide feedback to the developers.

P70%
by P####:

Not actually any of the functionality a commuter needs. I don't need time to platform when I have the departure time of the train, I need time to destination so I can pick the fastest train! When I look at trains from A to B, I want departures from A going to B, or arrivals at B from A, not arrivals at A from B... The app also doesn't always update when there are delays, it just leaves the old time without even writing delayed in most cases. When there is information on delays, there is no information on network wide delays, just individual train level and no reason for the delay, when we need to know if the whole network or line is affected! Generally speaking this app is not fit for purpose.

Y70%
by Y####:

Live times? What a joke! I can still see a delayed service displayed as "running on time" well past its departure time. Use National Rail Enquires app instead. One would think the operator should know better... Obviously not SWR

I70%
by I####:

Suggest you look one at one of the other companies. Absolute rubbish interface. One of the shortest installs ever back to National Rail app

Y70%
by Y####:

What I want to see: 1. Live trains widget for my regular journey so I can uninstall the Network Rail app. 2. Single tap purchase of my regular journey ticket. 3. Buying a ticket with the app and not having to wait 2 hours for it to be ready to use. 4. NFC support so my ticket can live on my phone. I shouldn't need a Smartcard.

H70%
by H####:

Keeps timing out before I can complete ticket purchase. More work need on this app, I think...

R70%
by R####:

Really big step backwards from the old South West Trains app, this app is terrible and needs a serious rewrite. Multiple time outs if you have the audacity to sign in, pressing back at any stage resets the process, you'll get signed out randomly. You'll spend so long trying to get the app to work, you'll run out of time. Bought a ticket in 20 seconds on Trainline. Really disappointed.

O70%
by O####:

I hoped taking over from SWT this would be a great app to replace the trainline. Looked good but nothing seems to work. I hope the rest of the franchise changes are better than the app.

K70%
by K####:

Do we have to register again? Live Times now doesn't show the journey time, so can't diffentiate between fast and slow services

Y70%
by Y####:

Pretty rubbish. Needs a simple traffic light indication of service status by line and doesn't link into my season ticket or smart card

Y70%
by Y####:

Rubbish. Can't even add a refresh to 'live' trains? No last refresh time. No facility for favorite train times. Or alerts.

Y70%
by Y####:

Live train time information is a joke. All it shows you is the time it arrives at destination, not what time it departs Waterloo or which platform to head for. Bring back the old version.

Q70%
by Q####:

yet another app where the newer version is a total dogs dinner ....another example of money wasted in renaming rebranding by management who can't even get to run trains on time ...disgusting monopoly ...the app totally sucks

F70%
by F####:

Consistent with all South Western services, unreliable, poorly thought out, lacks logic and without explanation. I fling virtual stool in the face of the developers and train operators.

F70%
by F####:

This is the worst train app I've ever used and I thought the south west one was awful before that. Sticking with national rail app

P70%
by P####:

Pretty good, fortunately I had used the updated GWR app for a while and this is very similar, quick and straightforward, although I can understand why former users of the SWT app are taking a little while to settle in. Once you get the hang of it it's just fine.

R70%
by R####:

Good app. Train times are correct, easy to find out things. Would be good if the app could incorporate paying for tickets on your phone like the buses are doing currently

P70%
by P####:

I really like this app. It gives me the times of the trains in clear detail and I am able to choose the time, date and train to buy my ticket for. I would definitely recommend this app to those travelling with South Western Railway.

Y70%
by Y####:

I just want a simple app that allows you to plan your journeys like the Southern one but this app was not surely developed for that purpose.

Y70%
by Y####:

Great app - Simple to use - Does what it says on the tin! A big improvement on the poor South West Trains app.

Y70%
by Y####:

So rare to come across such a user-friendly interface.

E70%
by E####:

Awesome app

L70%
by L####:

It's ok for what I need which is just the live train status, saves me having to go to their Website. It would be great if they could add the "traffic light" line status thing which they have on the first page of their website.

Y70%
by Y####:

Yet another First app disaster.. you messed up the GWR app and refused to listen to YOUR CUSTOMERS, now this one, what is wrong with you?????

Y70%
by Y####:

I lobe south west trains

Y70%
by Y####:

Terrible. Impossible to find details of disruption.

M70%
