Star Wars™: Card Trader

I have only been playing this for about 2 weeks and have really enjoyed it. I used to love how you didn't have to pay for anything. Now with the new crystals update all the good cards are blocked behind a pay wall. I am really disappointed by this because of the fact that this app is now mostly pay to play. If you were thinking about downloading this app, unless you want to pay to play, don't download it. I will change this review if something changes to balance out the pay wall.

I love the new update. And they already fixed the one thing I had an issue with and commented about in-app. The crystals (diamonds) are a nice touch too, as they go a lot farther than direct purchases. Overall, highly recommend. -Larrin (fan name)

DARTHXYPHER I have been apart of this app since nearly the beginning. I really enjoy the thrill of cracking packs of cards and hoping to get the insert card. This app provides many opportunities for people to trade and discuss topics in the many chat rooms available. Although this is a pay to play app, they do provide you with free daily credits and hopefully soon free daily crystals. They also offer an opportunity through Tap joy to earn many more credits. This card trader app regularly does marathons which adds a very nice thrill to the hunt for new inserts and really makes you want to trade people to get them. Each card is subject to a card counts and varies depending on the card/series. The lower the number the more rarer or harder the card is to get. Whatever your favourite character, spaceship or even alien may be, there is always a card or trade waiting for you. This app is a great way to make friends through trades and chat. The one thing I would like to see for improvement is somehow reduce the amount of battery consumption this app uses. Overall this is a really fun app and I enjoy this a lot. 5 stars!!! Well done!! Was pretty heavily pay to play before. But tolerable and kind of fun. Even threw some money at it from time to time. But they just added a more convoluted premium currency system that just raises the pay wall. It's gross. It makes me feel filthy and grubby taking any part in it. Uninstalling.

The packs are way to expensive, the pull rates are to low and no one wants to trade cards. Maybe make it possible to trade cards for money or put cards up for auction. Maybe have in game contests to win cards or coins. The new crystal curency is a cash grab and this game is becoming to greedy. I remember when I first got this app all packs costed 5000 credits and now some packs cost 100,000 credits and you are not guaranteed an insert. This app has gone from a 5 star app to a 2 star app over how greedy the creators are

Don't download this app unless you're willing to shell out some big bucks to enjoy it. The app publisher makes it more difficult everyday to casually use the app. The allure of the app is primarily collecting and completing card sets. The new system ensures that you have a significantly low chance of doing so without dropping cash for a newly employed in-game credit system. Before this system, I would've recommended a download. Collecting was challenging and felt more like a matter of skill and effort with trade. Now it's a matter of the publishers new attempt to squeeze more cash out of players. You will still be able to enjoy some parts of the app; just be prepared for some significant frustration and the feeling that you're missing out.

The change over / addition of crystals, with no way to exchange credits for them ( real currency only ) is nothing but a blatant cash grab that goes beyond even basic micro transactions ( which I dispise ). Topps needs to rethink this. I enjoy the art on the cards, but locking a chance to get cool cards behind a pay wall is bad form.

Update since my last review. Still rated a 1 star, and I'm super annoyed. Literally almost everything in this game is pay to play, and the new crystal system is a rip off. I bought crystals and went to buy a pack of cards that's crystals only with the odds of 1:5 I bought 7 packs and still didn't get anything. Topps don't post odds anymore unless you can guarantee them. It's pointless, and you get a lot of upset fans. You literally don't care though. You post odds so people don't get them and waste more real money,and still get nothing! SCAM!

Horrible customer service. I purchased a bundle and NEVER recieved the gems I was trying to get. I even sent the Google Play Receipt, but no answer. This game is more expensive than actual physical cards. To be a top player or get access to better stuff, you must SPEND.....A LOT!

Its much too expensive now. 1 pack with 25 cards cost £60. And only a few packs that use credits that are good. Now its just a buy to win game. Do not recomend!

The crystals addition ruins the the game and more or less negates daily check-in. Why check-in when you're rewarded with now useless points? You need crystals to buy anything meaningful. This sucks.

After two updates, bugs still exist. Unable to "pull down to refresh" on a few screens. Mainly, the home screens. Otherwise, just a low quality user experience that seems to get worse as time goes on.

Was great until a recent update. I've played it for years, and now they've added a crystal system, essentially making around 80% of the card packs only available to those who spend actual money. It's amazing that a game that started off strong (and has so many other variations) has all the sudden fallen into the pay to win barrier mistake. I have literally saved up over a million credits (just in case some awesome pack shows up and the odds aren't great, and I have to dump an insane amount to get some cards), and now they're useless. There's four packs I can spend credits on right now, and they are boring. Really disappointing. I wouldn't get into the game unless you want to spend a few dollars per day on crystals.

Was fine until they added a second currency system (diamonds) that are ridiculously expensive. Pretty much have to drop a ton of money to get any cool or rare cards.

Was fun to collect card until everything switched to Crystal currency, now the only way to get decent packs is to spend real money on fake currency.. go back to your old business model and support your fans

I don't mind in game purchases but when you can only get new packs with diamonds, it gets boring to have open the same packs that never really change. If this change is going to all card games then I may uninstall all of them.

The change to crystals is a pure cash grab. Just be honest Topps when you make an update. You want more money. Used to be a 5star app, not so much now.

Please take the crystals out. It's cumbersome and annoying. Also, the new screen configuration is not very user friendly.

This used to be a good app until the crystals made some sets unavailable unless you spend money for virtual cards...

Cards are too expensive, bad odds, new update is utter trash. Gems packs need to be removed.

Its ok but people are greedy when it comes to trades and this while supplies last for digital cards makes it impossible to get the cards you want, now they added gem packs you can only get with money...

Was fun now sucks, want good cards you have to pay, taken all the fun out of it

Loved it my favorite app only when I tried to change my profile picture from the default it keeps on crashing the game.

Can you send me a reset password link this is a horrible service almost no other online system doesn't take this to send a flipping e-mail.

Don't like having to buy gems to get good cards sooooo stupid

They added a paywall to get good cards which is kinda ridiculous considering it's digital cards that really have no value

Really fun when I first started, but they have added diamonds recently which cost a lot of real cash. It seems like it's no longer a real free to play game anymore... which sucks cuz it's a fun and addicting game.

Bug Report (8/17/17): The application crashes and a window pops up saying that the app is not responding. Card Trader only does this when I go to change my profile picture. The app crashes exactly when I tap on the picture that i want to be my new picture. Please fix. Thank you.
