About 9/11 Museum Audio Guide
Enhance your experience of the 9/11 Memorial Museum by using the official audio guide. The Museum honors the 2,983 people killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. Exhibitions tell the story of the events of 9/11 through authentic artifacts that range in scale from the monumental to the intimate, as well as through first-person accounts and multimedia displays.
The guide provides themed audio tours featuring stories from the day of 9/11 and the recovery at Ground Zero. It also presents details of the Museum’s archaeological elements and architectural designs of the Memorial and the Museum.
Witnessing History Tour: Narrated by Robert De Niro, this tour provides an overview of 9/11 and its aftermath. You’ll hear about the experiences of first responders, recovery workers, family members of those killed on 9/11, journalists, and others with stories to share. This tour is also available in American Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Discovering History Tour: Designed for children ages 8-11 years old and their families, this tour takes a close look at Museum artifacts and provides an age-appropriate recounting of the events of 9/11.
Building History Tour: This tour features the voices of architects, recovery workers, and preservationists describing the archaeological remnants of the World Trade Center visible in the Museum, as well as information about the building and design of the original complex and this Museum.
An audio descriptive tour of the Museum is also available.

My phone required that I close the app to take a picture but you can easily reopen and get back to a section. They ask that you use headphones so bring a pair but if not you can purchase some there.

The app works great but why doesnt de nero talk about how ALL WTC complexes turned to dust? Not just the towers?

The tour narrations were really well made. I wasn't able to find the narrations to the 9/11 exhibition until the end of my visit though (it was hidden in the Audio Description section). As a suggestion I would change the heading to say it is specifically for the 9/11 exhibition. But otherwise, great!

I installed the app. When I clicked on it, it said I had to download some files. It could not download them. I uninstalled and retried and got a bit further but then it crashed. I have a Nexus 4 phone. I really wanted this to install.

Very helpful for visiting the museum. Make sure to listen to the Audio Description for a self-guide for the tour. Initial download is large, so try and do it while at home before your visit.

It's great that this app exists, but a large, slow download is needed before you can start using it (there is free wifi at the museum, so not sure why it can't stream the audio). Also, the audio pauses when the screen turns off so it wastes battery. Otherwise, it was useful.

This is a fantastic app while visiting the 9/11 museum. The audio descriptions are great. The only problem is you can't take pictures while the audio is running and if your screen turns off the audio pauses. I had to change the settings on my phone so my screen wouldn't turn off and had to pause it to take a picture. Even with those issues it's a must when visiting the museum. Just make sure you have a full charge before going. My wife and I spent almost 5 hours there.
