يسعى هذا المقرر إلى تحقيق أهداف عامة تتمثل في الآتي :
1-تزويد الدارس بالمفاهيم النحوية الأساسية؛ لكي تكون له نبراسا يهتدي بها عند دراسته لأبواب النحو الأخرى .
2- تعزيز معرفة الدارس بأقسام الكلام , والمعرب والمبني , والنكرة والمعرفة واستخدام ذلك استخداماَ وظيفياً.
3- تعزيز قدرة الدارس على التعلم الذاتي من خلال قيامه بالتمرينات المختلفة
سار المؤلفان في ترتيب المادة العلمية على نهج ابن مالك في الخلاص
وتناول هذا المقرر الموضوعات الآتية :
1- الكلام وما يتألف منه .
2- المعربات .
3- المبنيات .
