Un poco de historia
El masaje con esferas se realiza desde hace cientos de años en China y al principio era sólo utilizado por las Familias Nobles y por el Emperador. Con el tiempo se fue popularizando su uso debido a los beneficios en la prevención de la salud que su utilización generaba.

Otras corrientes aseguran que fueron creadas durante la dinastía Ming (1368-1644), pero lo cierto es que a partir de este tiempo fue cuando se empezaron a fabricar en escala, y se les agregó sonido, por medio de un diapasón metálico en su interior contra el que percute una esferita de menor tamaño y por medio del cual, queda en suspenso generando el sonido de “campana”que provocan al moverse. El sonido generado por los diapasones hoy está siendo estudiado a nivel científico mundialmente, por sus efectos en el reestablecimiento y la sanación.
Anterior a esta intervención las esferas eran macizas y sin sonido y el material que se utilizaba para su fabricación era el Jade. Según documentos, estas esferas eran usadas al principio sólo por la familia imperial, recomendadas por el médico imperial quién debía garantizar el equilibrio saludable de todos sus miembros.
Luego, y debido a su efectividad fueron dadas a conocer y utilizadas por los miembros del palacio y al final por todo el pueblo chino, a quienes sólo llegó una fracción de toda la información acerca de sus utilidades y que son hoy las que se transmitieron por todo el mundo.
Por supuesto que variaba la calidad de las esferas según quién fuera su poseedor, ya que las esferas que usaba la familia imperial tenían decoraciones majestuosas y las que se usaban comúnmente eran mucho más sencillas. Pero la efectividad en el trabajo con ellas no variaba en su interior, ya que todas se fabricaban interiormente de la misma forma y con la misma aleación de metales.
Pasado el tiempo, durante la dinastía Ching ( 1644- 1911), el emperador Kwan Long llegó a entusiasmarse tanto con los resultados de su utilización que mandó a los mejores orfebres a que hicieran verdaderas obras de arte con ellas, y también se dice que formó una secta en torno a su utilización, de la cual llega muy poca información a nuestros días, ya que sólo fue transmitida a nivel académico a los médicos y algunas personas dedicadas a la sanación.
Durante las dinastías Ming y Ching se desarrollaron toda serie de dibujos y motivos en el laqueado de las esferas y aún hoy podemos ver en ellas imágenes como las del Ave Fénix y el Dragón , el Ying y Yang; tortugas; osos panda, etc.
Los colores de las esferas también son muy significativos, así como los de las cajas forradas en géneros bordados de diferentes motivos y colores.
La simbología de los colores está más asociada al Feng Shui y cada color tiene un mensaje en particular para quien lo elige.
Así como los símbolos mencionados, las esferas poseen una amplia gama de diseños que tienen un significado metafísico y uno visual, pero más allá de los símbolos e imágenes que estas poseen, el verdadero efecto en ellas está en el sonido que producen. A little history
