About Screens - Multi Window Manager

Screens allows you to quickly enter splitscreen mode with pre selected apps. It creates shortcuts that can be used from any launcher. This might be good for productivity or having SeriesGuide and Kore at the same time.

This app uses Accessibility services. Accessibility services are required to enable Multi window automatically, if you don't want to provide this open source app with the permission you will need to manually hold the recents button when prompted.

Running Android Oreo 8.1 on a Google Pixel 2 XL. I was having a problem with "Screens" not wanting to create the shortcut on my home screen to launch the split screen apps. I just discovered that if you tap on the "Star" icon - on the top right corner, AFTER you have selected your 2 split screen apps it will save those two apps for split screen to the "Screens" 'Quick Settings' tile (on the Notification Drawer / Pull Down Twice). Then, just to change those apps again just HOLD the "Screens" Quick Settings" tile & it will launch the app & allow you to change these two apps again. This works MUCH BETTER for me rather than to have to depend on a home screen icon for launch. Thanks "Keep Away From Fire" ????.

Doesn't seem to want to work. When using Tasker plugin it keeps asking for accessibility permission - even though I've already turned accessibility on.

It doesn't have horizontal split screen and I can't adjusted the way I wanted to be so I can do the things that I'm trying to do which is consisting of YouTube and flipaclip

THANK YOU!!! This is exactly what I was looking for for my new Note8 with Nougat. Love the Samsung App Pairs on the Edge Screen, but too limited. Tasker and Screens to the rescue!

Great app. Really useful.

I enjoy this app very much. It's terrible that Samsung and another app copied you. The only issue I have with this app is if I set up two apps to open regardless of which app I setup first they always open the same way. What I mean is for instance Poweramp and Wave; I need for Poweramp to be at the top and Wave at the bottom, but no matter how I set up those two they always open Waze at the top and Poweramp at the bottom. That's the only thing that can really be improved with this app.

Fills in a function missing in Android 7. Developer please fix: it loads the apps upside-down! Whatever I choose for the top window appears on the bottom, and vice-versa. Otherwise, very nice!

This works great. This is what the stock Samsung multi window app should be. Certain apps together would crash before using this app. Samsung take notes!

Hey developer, thank you. This is ALMOST exactly what I was looking for. Two feature requests: 1. It would be really cool if the shortcut icon that's created was an actual system shortcut so that on by BlackBerry keyone I could click a key and have it execute. 2. a feature to adjust dimensions of the newly open apps.

Youtube doesn't work on upper side of split screen.

Please make it possible to add child apps, such as the driving mode within Google maps, or be able to select shortcuts on the home screen.

Much need app to fill the void. however it seems to spawn multiple instances of the same app so it gets messy fast.

It was working great, but now it crashes when using it as a Tasker plugin. Edit: Updated to version 5.1.2 and Tasker Plugin is working again! Awesome! Updated to 5 stars! I'm using it with Tasker to launch a split screen of navigation app and some audio player.

Good app and not many out there that do this. However, it doesn't open apps in the order you've selected. I've chosen to have Maps open on top half of screen and Pocket Casts on the bottom. When I use the shortcut it will open them the other way around.

Great program. Makes tasks easier.

Nice implementation. Easier than doing this with Tasker. Custom shortcut icon would be nice.

Works perfectly everytime. Great that I can add it to my quick settings

Y70%

Very cool concept, but still has kinks to work on. I made a shortcut to show work emails (Nine app) and personal emails (Inbox app). The shortcut works 80% of the time. It once seemed to have frozen the Android UI and I had to reboot the phone (Nexus 6P).

Love the idea of this but on the Pixel phone it takes me back to the Accessibility settings a lot even though it already has permissions. Also, doesn't work with the DirecTV Now app which is the ideal app for this so you can watch TV and also work on another app. Needs a lot of work.
